I would recommend buying all the maps for an extra $50. Start with Stage 1 93 and get some logs to see if you have good gas where you live. Then bump it up to Stage 2 if timing looks good. I didn't have the best gas, so I went from Stage 1 93 to Stage 2 91.

Don't just full send with Stage 2 right off the bat. That's how you get into trouble.

This is what I am going to do. Upgrading the CP first.

For stage 2 you will need a DP and FMIC. I also recommend upgrading your plugs to one step colder. I've had positive results with NGK.
Need in this case is subjective. Chargepipe failures are so common, I'd upgrade it even if I was staying stock.

Plugs I would hold off on unless you're sure you need them. Most folks go with 97506's. You'll need a special gapping tool anyway if you want to gap lower than .025 with any degree of accuracy.
Charge pipe failures are almost always due to tunes. Very few are from stock cars. The vendors on here are trying to spread a false rumor that even stock cars should have their charge pipe "upgraded".

My 2014 435i was CPO and after owning it for about 2 months on stock tune, the charge pipe broke. It was replaced under warranty and even my service advisor commented that it was a common issue.

My 435i broke the plastic CP without a single modification.

Same here. Also 2014 F30. Stock CP cracked right at the throttle body on stock tune.

Spoke with my Service Adviser and he WILL service my car with my tune, no issues.

I am buying all tunes and starting with Stage 1 93 octane. Going to upgrade my charge pipe first. Is this a one our job for my local independent BMW shop?

Any other advice is always appreciated.
