Spark plugs for N55

Sorry if this question has been asked so many times but I searched around and couldn't put together a definite answer so I'm asking for assistance.

I have a 2014 335xi with the N55 engine (of course) I'm running FBO with MHD stage 2+, stock turbo and stock HPFP

I've read a few threads that say that I have to use a 1 step colder plugs but:
1. Don't know which ones are 1 step colder
2. Are there any pregapped at 0.022 which is the gap I seen recommenced

Can someone enlighten me

Just read this thread and my posts there: https://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1709198

I basically show everything you need to change the plugs and which ones i ordered. You dont need colder plugs and you dont need a smaller gap unless you specifically have issues with the OEM plugs. As i tell everyone else, try a new stock set first and then go to the NGKs with a smaller gap if necessary.

I run OEM Bosch plugs with stock gap (0.030'' out of the box) with no issues on MHD stage 2+ 91 and E20 maps. I just change mine like a month or two ago. Car ran fine even with the original plugs with 45k miles on them before i changed it.

Thank you for the reply, so I guess I'll just go with the stock oe recommended ones, I'm having some rough idle but I think it's because the last time i changed plugs I had an random shop do it and they didn't torque the plugs maybe that's why

If the rough idle started immediately after that service, then yeah, i would be suspicious of the plugs or anything else they touched. If not, it could be variety of other things... are you running an intake or did you disable cold start?

Not running an intake or disabled cold start

I was thinking about that "reduce startup noise" option, is it bad ?

Not "bad" persay but any of the options that disable the raised RPM on startup can potentially lead to a rough idle. Seems to be hit and miss.

If you are getting rough idle i would also check for shadow codes and see if you get anything.

Like thejeremyman said it is kind of a hit or miss in terms of that option causing a rough idle, for me it did a few times (after I selected "reduce startup noise") in the beginning but then I also enabled engine startup roar and I haven't had a rough idle since the winter I think.

I have basically the same setup as you, just with 2 less doors, I have theses https://bmwsparkplugs.com/products/b...er-spark-plugs

gapped to .0200, runs great on them, only reason I did this was I was at 30K and wanted to do the plugs, but as mentioned above you can probably do stockers too.
