Activehybrid 3 F30 N55 JB4 or BM3?

Hello folks currently driving a 13 Activehybrid 3 has the n55 with just the bms charge pipe will be adding bms intake, Wagner catless dp, csf fmic next week. My question is which tune would work best for something with my mods the JB4 or the BM3. I don't plan on upgrading the turbo anytime soon would really just like to get as close as possible to 400 hp. Will only track 2-3 times a year. Daily driven. Thanks in advance!

1. Skip the intake unless you just want noise, and get a dry drop-in filter. Consider a turbo inlet if you want to actually improve throttle response (MST V2).

2. Go flash tune if they are available for AH3 (i.e., BM3 or MHD). No need for JB4 unless you plan to add meth or need it for some other specific reason.

3. Ignore xxx HP goals.

P.S. Car is clean for a 2013

Thanks for the response, I try to baby her lol thanks! Really only reason I'm looking at getting it is for that reason, love the sound of the blow off valve. I see it a lot on these forums and other owners that run the jb4 stage 1 or 2 for the ones that have some bolt ons. Is there an advantage to the flash tune like bm3 over jb4?

Not to bash on JB4 since it can work fine and has additional capabilities like meth control, but simply put the flash tunes are more refined because they allow everything to be controlled by the DME. They should also in theory make more power. They are just a much more advanced way of 'tuning' since the JB4 is just a piggyback and not a true flash tune. Flash tunes are much more advanced.

Ran JB4 on my e92 335 and it worked great. Got my 13 335 and decided to go with JB4 again(against others that had F30s) and regretted it because I always had to be fine tuning it. Switched to MHD and haven't had an issue since. With a flash you can just flash it and go without thinking about it. With JB4 you would need to keep tweaking it until you get your desired results.... If you actually do

With the flash do you need a dyno tune as well? Excuse the beginner questions 😬

You could get a custom dyno tune using mhd/bm3. Personally I just flashed and data logged, that's what a lot of people on this forum do.

No. You just pick a off the shelf map for whatever mods you have. Just flash and go.

I did a little more research the bm3 looks pretty cool just being able to pick a map based off what you have modded on your car. Thanks!

I recommend you also check MHD. I am not entirely sure their AH3 support, but it's worth considering in addition to BM3, and is my personal recommendation FWIW.

For inlet, get MSTv2 assuming it fits AH3.

CP doesnt really matter as long as it fits.

Pick an IC depending on your climate and power goals. Nothing smaller than a good 5'' stepped.
