Hi,
Was just about to order new sensor from ebay but checked my car sensor first. It was old model RLSBS so should it support following retro-fit just with coding? Do I need anything else than switch mod and coding? Br, Riku |

I retrofitted the sensor and did a mod on the light switch. Everything works well, except I got a error code from INPA
0x030351 Schaltzentrum Lenksaeule (SZL) (LIN): falsche Variante (Steering wheel cluster 0xD90D16 Bedieneinheit Licht (BEL), (LIN): falsche Variante verbaut light switch) Any one know how to fix this? |

Are all sensors compatible?
I found a sensor from a scrapped car that according to bmwvin.com had automatic air conditioning and rain sensor. Will that work in my car or are there also other parameters to consider? My car does not have HUD, lane departure warning, lane-change warning or driving assistant. |

On my F31 I have from factory the solar/condensation sensor (part number 61359347398) with auto climate and 6WA insta.cluster.
Do you know if I can activate just by coding the auto light function only, as I don't care about the rain function,or I have to change the existing sensor for the light-rain-solar-condensation sensor? Thanks in advance |

Hi,
I've followed this excellent retrofit guide to the letter. However I've used a slightly different RLS with partnumber 61356814596 (as RealOEM suggests it's the superseded part of 61359293279 - mentioned in this guide). Today, as part of some other maintenance I've noticed some strange diagnostic messages in ISTA+ regarding the RLS-sensor. I've seen the following messages: - TBX: No current coding data stored - TBX: Control unit is not encoded for the vehicle - CON: No current coding data stored - CON: Control unit is not encoded for the vehicle - Compressor clutch: Break in wiring or short circuit to B+ (related to the "AIC_KOMPRESSOR_MAG_KUPPLUNG" to "aktiv"?) But the most important one (that maybe triggers all of above): - Rain-light-solar-condensation sensor: Wrong variant installed - Rain-light-solar-condensation sensor: Missing LIN slave Please do note all the functionality of the light and rain sensor seem to work as expected. What could cause this error? Do I need to VO-code something, or change the type of sensor in coding (as it's newer)? Or did I install an incompatible version of the RLS-sensor (as ISTA+ suggests)? I've attached the screenshot with an overview to the errors, and a print-out of each error - I do believe however that all are related to just one 'real' error. Hopefully somebody can point me in the right direction! With regards, Mike |

Hello
I've put 6814596 sensor to my car - previously I had 9270590. I choosed 6814596 because in realOEM there is information that 6814596 can be used as exchange of 61359293279 When I try to code it using Esys, I can't change FEM_BODY > 3060 > FLC_AKTIV from "nicht activ" - there is simply no "activ" option available from drop-down menu. All other options mentioned in this DIY guide are available to change as decribed in pdf: RLS_DEF_FLC_SCHWELLWERT_SATZ WW_REGENSENSOR AIC_KOMPRESSOR_MAG_KUPPLUNG RLS_LIN_VAR REGENSENSOR_INTERVALL My car has 9270590 sensor previously (SBS4/DE). Do I need to make any extra coding for this retrofit? |

Reviving an old thread, while unfortunatelly I have no information for people experiencing problems, I want to state that everything went perfectly for me after picking part number from realoem and installing/coding everything works great (have not tested auto AC yet, but auto lights and auto rain works)

Although I've the ISTA messages as can be seen in the screenshots a few posts back, the sensor does seem to work as expected. |

Just a thought, but maybe it would be possible to VO-code this feature? As I think maybe the errors mean that FDL and sensor mismatch the FA options? |

(My unedited post was stating I might have done the VO-coding) I might give it a shot. It would make sense it would resolve the coding messages that ISTA shows. All functionally seems to work (or at least doesn't let me notice it doesn't work ;-)), will see when I have some time to look into this... To which VO would introduce this functionality, 521? AIC_KOMPRESSOR_MAG_KUPLUNG Should be according to guide: aktiv Is after 521 VO CODE: nicht_aktiv RLS_LIN_VAR: Should be according to guide: RLSBS Is after 521 VO CODE: RLSBSoH I have left the values after VO code, I don't know if I should change them to be according to the guide or defaults after VO code, if anybody has any insight to what these mean, it'd be great! Also, I am still downloading ISTA, so it will take me a bit to see if the errors are present after VO code EDIT: I VO coded KOMBI and FEM_BODY as they were affected according to this post: https://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...11&postcount=5 EDIT2: Unfortunatelly, I also get the errors in ISTA Last edited by tlorenz2014; 06-12-2020 at 09:42 AM.. Reason: additional info |

The sencor for A/C is only sun/fog sencor You need a sun/fog/light/rain sencor :-) change the multifunction contact to 9531153 then the raincencor works too Best regards Mogens |
