I am upgrading a friends 535i today and I need to generate a map update code.

I have all the tools but I can't find the right map and year code.

Its going to need 2016-1 premium for CIC.

For CIC (1B File):
In the Parameter section enter:
1. Diagnostic Address (hex) = 0x63
2. Click on the Identify button and the Base variant HU_CIC will be populated
3. Application ID for CIC= 0x1B
4. Upgrade Index = 0x1

Not what I meant, but thanks for your reply nonetheless. I got what I needed from Shawn.

Was looking for the ID to put in the generator.

Ahh ok! I used the values I just posted to generate the FSC file. Then put that file into kriszty's generator software to get the 20 digit upgrade code. Theres probably different ways or generators that can be used. Glad you got it working though!

Upgrading your navigation system maps requires an FSC code to be entered before the update can begin. There are tools available to generate this code if you plan on doing it yourself, instead of paying hundreds of dollars to BMW for the update.
