Item lost behind the dashboard in the intake cabin air region
There's a region at the bottom of the windshield and behind the dashboard where I believe the air flows when the recirculate button is active. Two placards were lost in that space and while retrieving them I lost a bolt wrench like the one pictured below. I tried retrieving the wrench and almost got it but it slipped back down and I cannot seem to grab it with a coat hanger.
Any idea if there's a way to get this lost item? Is there a possibility that it fell into a conduit and is more than ~6" from the dashboard or could it still be hanging out in a space that is close enough to grab with a coat hanger? In other words, is there a grill for the cabin air intake that would prevent something from falling deeper into the ventilation system? |

Use a magnetic retriever.

Magnetic Retriever
Wow! This should be in everyone's toolbox! Thanks a bunch! Hopefully the gap between the dashboard and windshield is less than half an inch (the diameter of the magnet tip).
