Carbon Fiber Exhaust Tips on MPE

Does anyone have any experience replacing M Performance Exhaust chrome tips with carbon fiber ones or using the slip on CF finishers? Attached a pic of my MPE before the install...trying to figure out if finishers can be added on top, or if these need to either be pulled off, unscrewed, or cut/clamped. Thanks guys

There are no carbon fiber finishers that slip over your existing chrome tips.

The CF tips use double layer design inside consisting of chrome tips with CF sleeve permanently riveted onto a spacer setup on the inner chrome tip - you can't buy only the CF sleeve, nor would it work on the chrome tips you have anyway...

Your tips slide on & clamp to tailpipe with screw as in pic below - simply unscrew and slip off tips

CF tips also have similar set screw design - just slip them on & tighten screw

Pics shown here don't show screw clearly - but you can just make it out in 3rd pic poking out on inside

I was wondering if you also knew how I would unscrew these? Would I need some sort of rivet gun? I read somewhere that these use a Torx T15 which I bought, but had no luck. Here are some closer pics:

Those are rivets, they need to be drilled out

No harm in buying the T15 Torx - you'll likely need it sometime anyway. A lot of fasteners are that size...

I got this from Holy Land of China for £110 for both tips and quality is very good and would recommend.

Thanks they look good, I considered them.

I'm particular with what I use between genuine and replica and with the tips I wanted genuine.

The engraving and font style you can see are very different than the genuine tips, otherwise it would have been a no brainer for me.

I just went and dished out the cash for the real ones.

Are these installed on the MPerf exhaust muffler, or STD dual outlet muffler?

Just curious...what's the warranty on the tips. I've seen CF tips on a Porsche de-laminate.
