Downpipe

Hey guys i want to put a downpipe on my car but i dont want the horrendous smell of fumes all the time...
do catted downpipes smell like this?
How much HP can a catted downpipe add? And will it make my car louder? Please help!

My CG DS-1 smells. You're still letting more exhaust gasses through than stock downpipe...
And of course it will make your car louder. Probably a little less hp than a catless.

Is the smell really bad? Like is it unbearable? Will it still pass all those EPA tests?

No, No, and it depends on your state's test procedures. It's a good idea to keep your stock downpipe and swap it back at inspection time.

The smell isn't that bad unless the windows are down and a breeze is blowing the right direction, back to front. Then it's pretty noticeable. The car will actually sound a lot better and should have a bit more power although on these engines I believe you see the boost over spike or something to see you actually see a dip at 3K. Somebody please correct me if I'm wrong.

Most of these vehicles with downpipes should fail emissions although some people get theirs to pa$$ every time.

OP is asking about catted downpipes though. I've gone from catted to catless and it was noticeable though it didn't bother me. But with the catted downpipe I didn't smell anything at all.

I've had it on for thousands of miles without a CEL. No, I don't really smell it unless I walk to the rear of the car while it's running or immediately after it's been turned off.
You'd have to check your local state and county's emissions requirements.

It really shouldn't smell unless you are overly sensitive to it.

I just sold my ER catless downpipe and I will never have any decat pipe anymore. Too smelly and noisy (no good but just loud &poor sound) for me. It also makes my car not smooth. It will cause terrible throttle closure problem even with jb4 ewg. Never go decat just buy a highflow downpipe.

Anybody have the Fabspeed catted downpipe? I'm thinking about picking it up. Kinda pricey though.

For B58 I would rank the ER very high on the list if not at the top. Large diameter, great build quality, etc.. If looking for catted ER supplies some very high quality cats on their pipes as well.

We offer Evolution Racewerks, VRFS & VM Downpipes

First 2 options are more popular since they are 4.5" vs 4.0" on the VM

Fabspeed do not sell their own B58 downpipe.
They sell the HJS pipe which is 300 CEL, waste of money in my opinion since it is to restrictive
