Front-end collision warning
Is there a way of disabling this feature? To my mind its totally unnecessary, too sensitive and unsuitable for the hustle and bustle of city driving (it activates most mornings while traversing Vauxhall Cross almost bringing the car to a stop while all around are progressing)

I just checked with BMW. Short of coding it out it seems the only solution is to deactivate it at the start of every journey. In addition to deactivating the start/stop function and unfolding the wing mirrors....I'm going to need a checklist!

Start-stop can be deactivated by default through coding. Same as mirrors.
Never had a problem with the collision warning though. You should either question whether yours works fine or... your driving style... It has only once activated the brakes on me and that was because I was approaching a turn in a narrow street where there was a dog-walker walking on the street, practically in-front of the car, although I was about to turn following the street. I have had very rare instances when it displayed the symbol on the cluster / HUD, whilst I approach a turning car in front of me a bit more aggressively but that's it. No nuisance warnings in general.
