I have an N57 engine 430d. For a few weeks quite regularly I got rough idle on a cold start and a diagnostic via BimmerLink revealed the camshaft sensor is on its way out.

Ordered the replacement part but sat on it a while until the weekend when my car failed to start until the 4th attempt.

I've just swapped the part and now my car won't start at all. It cranks just fine but won't start. I keep getting the below two errors. Obviously I've attempted a few times without success. Would this break anything timing related? Tooth, chain etc.

I checked the connector going into the sensor with a multimeter so I know everything is fine there... What I haven't checked is the sensor itself. I saw on youtube that while a multimeter is hooked up the connector if you put something metal near the sensor the reading should drop to 0 on the multimeter.. Could try that to rule that out

Might check this fuse as a troubleshooting step...

F01 fuse had blown. Swapped this out and everything resolved.

Should help if someone else has this issue in future
