Not really. I'd have to go a couple hours away to do it. Knowing the numbers would be cool, but for me, how it feels driving is what really matters. And it feels good two days in.

So you feel a significant jump from Dinan Stage 1? Did Dinan Stage 1 feel like a jump from stock?

Installed on stock PPK, and while the intake is an absolute work of art, slightly underwhelmed by sound and extra HP. Ranking low on butt dyno.

No dinan tunes installed as an FYI...

Post if you want anything! (Pics or videos)

Went from MPPK w/Dinan Exhaust to MPPK+Stage 2+Dinan Intake w/Dinan Exhaust and the feel in "jump" has been very noticeable. Intake sound is a bit more than I was anticipating (in a good way) from reviewing earlier posts while waiting for receipt. The low end bump in torque and pull is night and day.

So you kept the MPPK air box with the hole in it? On a scale of 1-10, how loud was the intake sound before (with just MPPK)....vs....after with the Dinan intake?

On a side note, I've heard glowing reviews of the Dinan tunes (I can vouch for stage 1)....any plans to add a Dinantronics?

When I have my windows rolled up, I don't hear any noise except for the odd diverter whoosh during some upshifts. If I have my windows open with music down, I can faintly hear the induction and diverter is more pronounced. This is with the Dinan intake on stock lower air box.

If you've had intakes on other cars, it's definitely not as loud.

I think the tune will make it happen for me power wise, but considering other alternatives now that flash tuning is available.
I did keep the old air box, it was about 5 before and about a 5 now.
The wooshes and DV let off is a little different in tone, but not louder (which isn't bad). Window down is needed to really hear something.

I also have a host of other things in my sig (ER IC/CP), so I'm sure that might contribute to some of the lag and/or lack luster response. A DP and tune will help

So it sounds like I'm not in the minority. I'm glad it's not that loud, but was hoping for some more distinct noises. Oh well, at least there's some power and def increased SA from the new element (that literally looks like it was shoe-horned in!)

So you put the stock air box (no extra hole) back on along with the new Dinan intake? If you don't mind me asking....was it because you were afraid it would be too loud....or.....was it this talk of the MPPK air box causing CEL issues when combined with the Dinan intake?

The seal between upper and lower cannot be that critical as the quality of what was supplied was cr@p self adhesive foam that doesn't fit too well into the tract in the lower airbox part.

Assembled mine last night and am thinking theres gotta be a better product than what is supplied. Very fiddly to install and not very stable as self adhesive doesn't stay stuck despite me cleaning oem lower airbox part with alcohol to clean/degrease.....

I had the stock lower air box with the Dinan, P2 turbo on 22psi, the stock intake tract collapsed causing compressor surge. The intake suction was too strong. I changed to the M performance box with the hole and got much better performance. 100-200 timings improved from 8s to 7.8s.

Good man,
What do you think? I have the MPE installation next week and I'm trying to decide either MPPK or Dinan intake to help the MPE sound.

Well, yoandry, I'd choose Dinan over MPPK any day but, to be perfectly honest, I'd like the car to be louder... Sooo I think downpipes and a different exhaust system are in my future. But for now, with the windows down in sport +, its a refined BMW sound.

Keep in mind I live in Miami where the douchiest of the douche live and there are tons of ridiculous super cars and modded cars that make my car sound like a Tesla in comparison.

I know Miami is crazy. Totally different here in Naples, very quite city so can't go around doing to much loud.

hi everyone,

I have question for who has actually installed the Dinan CAI. Installation was very easy, only issue I seem to have is when cold start my engine feels like it's gasping for air and I can feel engine vibration like it's about to stall out

Is this normal?? I don't have any CEL and after the cold start everything feels fine.

Would appreciate your input!

Just had dealer do my Dinan CAI along with "customer" parts. My SA is an enthusiast and pretty cool. I did Dinan Stage 2 before and did the Remus sport Catback when he installed the CAI- hence "customer" part.
Has Stage 1 only on my e92 and the tune; cai and exhaust work great together and torque is awesome. The CAI was not CA approved yet but I kept the oem if I need them for smog in 5yrs. Assuming Dinan will have the CAI CA approved by then.
