Downpipe

so i have a question. i have a 2013 f30 335i and i am looking to buy a downpipe for it. when i search for a n55 downpipe i get 2 options. one is where it fits models from 2008-2013. i'm guessing those are the e-models. that downpipe is a 3.5". then the other is a 4" downpipe that fits m235i, 335i, and m2's with the n55 engine. i feel like the 4" is the one i need to get but i just want to make sure before purchasing it!

If you have a 2013 you get the 3.5, you can double check by putting in your vin in mdecoder.com and looking at your production date

F series BMW models ran from 2011 to 2019.

The difference is if you have a pneumatic wastegate turbo (pwg) or an electric wastegate turbo (ewg).

The pwg turbo has the smaller outlet and the ewg has the larger outlet.

Generally speaking 2013 and prior f series n55 have pwg. And the newer 2014+ models have the ewg.

The only question is if you have a early 2014 build date that may still have the pwg.

That will tell you which dp to buy.

Most decent dealers will have the model year built into their website so you don't screw it up. Only issue is if you are buying used.

Be careful when you are buying the Vband and gasket for the turbo to CP connection. The part number and VIN lookup is wrong on most websites for 3.5'' vs 4''. I have posted in a few threads in the N55 section but its been months/year, so i would have to dig them up.
