F36 Custom Sub Enclosure Complete

Hello gents!

EDIT: I just accidentally erased my post, while updating deleted photos! GRRR! Anyways, I was sharing a couple of pics of an enclosure I built to fit the F36 chassis. It's built to .7 cu ft net, which is the spec'ed dimensions on a 10w6v2 and I'm really pleased with the outcome. It has added a really nice punch to the missing low end of BMW's factory system.

Critics welcome!

-Mike

I forgot how well bass travels in a hatch! This thing sounds fantastic, and fills in the low end gap on the HK system really well! ...anyways, on to the pictures. Experienced critics welcomed.

Ohh, and special thanks to Tecknic for continuing to produce a great product! No cut wires, thanks to his incredible harness.
Titan3,
Do you still have these pictures? I'm looking to do the same and curious what your setup looks like.

Here are a couple pics after installing my sub enclosure custom made for me by Titan. I had 0, zilch installing experience and he walked me through every step. This enclosure just simply rocks!!! I can't believe I installed it myself, haha! I will eventually have a write up on his enclosure but I can say I paired the JL 10w6v3 with a 600 watt Alpine amp and it rumbles now in my car!! Tell me if this doesn't look like a factory option?

Thumbs up Yep, looks like it belonged there all along!

VERY nice job, it certainly looks professional, I'd never suspect it was your 1st!

I'm pondering seriously doing this on my 2015 320i after {before??} I upgrade the underseats to Earthquakes. That's the exact sub /amp combo I've been pondering. It would be my first enclosure too, but certainly not my first car speaker upgrade. I'm fairly handy and have all the woodworking tools and skill, just never got around to doing one.

Can't afford it right now, just got the BimmerTech PP82DSP ($$ OUCH!) so I'm reviving an crappy little Infinty BassLink that I'm doing some mods on to tide me over. Have to see how it integrates sonically, the PP82DSP should allow me to profile it fairly well, but I'm afraid it will just be boomy and I'm more of an "accurate" bass guy.

I'm hoping it will fill in some on the lower end, and help the little pathetic underseat "woofers". Two 6" speakers does NOT equal a 12". Maybe paired in a tuned enclosure, but certainly not separated by two feet, and in separate enclosures!

At least BMW TRIED, and that's more than some companies do.

Two Q's -
Did you take any shots of the back?

What did you use for the carpet? That's the one that really puzzles me, how do you match the carpet? (OOPS! That's THREE questions, technically. )

Well Done!

The installation came out great, Sang! Really nice job! I'm glad you were so happy with the enclosure and that it's producing some nice bass for you. I take zero responsibility for hearing damage incurred while driving this car.

Is this enclosure for sale? Is there a grill available for the sub? I would be scared that some sliding stuff in the trunk will puncture the sub...

I found this- seems a little expensive for a "no-name" company:
