I had the foot operated parking brake on my SL, it was awful.....CLUNK! And the column stalk gear lever is just cheap and nasty to me.

Mercs are very shiny but the quality just isn't there once you start touching the surfaces, a magpie's car as my car dealer friend describes them.

Nice find on this offer. Is it just a one off or would they be able to find another car?

I’m very tempted to replace the 340i with one of these!

Stock cars only for the deal it seems.

I'd consider selling mine though

Absolutely agree, after owning my Merc, they are not the best for build quality. Push the dash and buttons and it creaks like hell. Let alone the rattles when driving.

Collecting car tomorrow and was having trouble with securing insurance because I also wanted to insure my 440i for a few days until it's collected and not all companies will do it.

I eventually started looking at the free 7 days to buy me time, but that was from BMW as well, apparently with the same M car caveat.

I phoned the dealer and they said they'd sent a few M40d's out on it, and there must be an error somewhere.

So I phoned BMW insurance again, and this time got a totally different story. It needed a tracker because it was over £50k value. The list is £55k, but I'm paying £43k, so was happy for them to adjust insurance value to £49,995. I then got my policy changed with a £52 increase, so not much.

Ended up adding my 440i to my wife's Aviva policy for 10 days, as they are a company that will do short term additions, only cost me £40.

A few hours work and a pain in the arse for a while. But all good now, car collection still on for tomorrow morning and managed to keep my insurance with BMW.

Enjoy the collection Alex. Looking forward to pics of the new beast and early thoughts.
