Yes I can confirm this works, the units are basically all the same.

I did my install yesterday and it was coded by Steve steve@codemybimmer.

This guy is a true gentleman, very patient with my questions during the install.

Ebay, got the screen, nbt unit and idrive touch controller for 500 USD.

Only other part I ordered was the GPS antenna for 20$.

Coding was done by steve@codemybimmer.

No emulator needed and I actually kept my original idrive button.

i would like to buy the full kit for my BMW F30 of 2016 actually i have the 6 inch display and i would like to do the big upgrade with carplay and the nbt unit with the 10,25 inch display

i saw that i will have to phisically cut the back of the display in order to match with the actual dash i don't want to cut the dash in order to make the process reversible

do you have any template for the cutting or i just need to cut little by little?

i saw form the picture that i will have to cut also the metal part of the screen in order to match it and enlarge the holes of the bracked

is that all? do i miss somehting in add is true that i will lost the service info or with the proper coding i will get them back?

Hi

Yes you'll need to cut away parts of the dash UNDER where the screen slots in - if you're very careful around the edge, you can cut the top part of the dash (thats exposed only when the screen is out) without it being visible with the smaller screen inserted. I drew around the smaller screen with a pencil so I knew the line I couldn't go beyond and remain hidden. Stay away from that line.
You'll need to cut down into the dash (IE, the new screen sits deeper into the dash than the smaller one) but that's cutting into plastic that's not needed and is fine.
You'll need to reshape the rear of the plastic cowling on the new screen yes, and likely remove/reshape some metal from the edge of the screen - being careful not to contact the edge of the glass when doing so.
A dremel with one of those round rubber blocks with the round tube of sanding paper did all of the work for me with the exception of the metal on the screen which I used a small dremel grinding stone for.
Just mark the old screens lines, go very carefully small bit by small bit, recheck often the new screen fits against the dash curves so you're not removing too much and it's fine. Just take it slow, and remove/replace the screen LOADS whilst you test fit.

PS - you don't need to elongate the mounting holes at all. In fact, doing so means the screen sits higher off the dash, leaving a fairly unsightly (to me) gap between the dash and the screen of 5mm or so - something I wasn't happy with. I managed to fit mine and the bottom of the screen facia is almost flush with the dash, as it should be.

I tried two 9347878 units and both showed "NO SIGNAL" message.
Also, I tried one 6816387 (with touch screen) monitor and it didn't showed anything.
Do I need an adapter for both version? Can anybody tell me what adapter and what coding do I need?

NBT Evo B240 use Apix2 Displays.

9 347 878 is a NBT Apix1 Display which also need a different supply voltage. Dont work.

6 816 387 is a Apix2 Touch Display so it should work with some coding.

I got 6816387 (with touchscreen) for my 2018 f80 which comes with touch display and had the same thing: when turning on, the backlight is on, but the screen doesn't show anything. Do you know what kind of coding is needed?

My car: 2015 328i (base model HU_ENTRYNAV with 6.5" screen)

My screen: 2016 x5 NBT Evo touch screen (bmw part number 681638702)

Will this screen work on my car? I've been told by a few members that it would. I also noticed that the bottom of this part number is different than what most people seemed to use (NBT cid). I assume my cuts will be slightly different.

I haven't coded the bigger screen into my car yet, nor will I be able to for a lil bit. So I can't confirm if it will work or not. Has anyone done this or know if it will work??

no this only works with nbt evo. It uses a different input method (apix2 vs apix1) and a different voltage. You need to do a HU retrofit and that's a big project.
The best solution would be using 65509347878 which is plug n play for your car and is much cheaper.

G30 screen looks wide (much wider screen bezels than f15). Not even sure if it's possible to trim it to fit.
