I totally get that. What I meant is these two edges. I can't fit the screen by pushing it down

Ah, that you mean...

No, this can't be done by just "pushing", of course. You need to cut the plastic material - of the monitor, not of the dash - with a sufficient tool (which we call "Dremel" here) so that it will match the angle and curve of the dash - and which is different on the left and right side!

German craftsmanship. (But not mine, to be honest, one of our F30 fellows did it, free-hand sitting in the car.)

Guys,

How are the bigger screens holding up? Any issues? Sounds like no coding is required and resolution is still excellent?

Mine is sitting in the box, not sure if I want to do this or not.

If the resolution is higher than 8.8", you need to code it.
HU_NBT 3000 DISPLAY_SIZE_RESOLUTION

So is this required?

Is there a noticeable increase in res?

you should code it to the higher resolution. it's probably the native resolution of the display and it looks way sharper.

my feeling with the buyer I got my eBay unit from is probably getting them from one of the factories. they could be units that might of failed QC that cannot be used for new cars or they grew feet and walked out of the factory.

mine is holding up well and for the price I paid for it I am very happy with it. I always get compliments from other f30 drivers.

Ebay

It's not fake...

Just check it every couple of days...

Got mine for $200.. it's in perfect shape, all BMW markings hard stamped into the metal.

To be honest, I saw no difference at all. And BMW graphics, text and images, are not that high res to begin with

mbfanos, yeah after thinking back before I changed it I could of lived with it. I take back the way better comment but would still recommend to change it. it's the default resolution that BMW uses for the vehicles that use the 10" screen. i seem to recall seeing more improvement with the camera views over the graphics.

I don't remove nothing from the dash, i want a reversible retrofit. I found a 10" monitor for 100 bucks and cut the metal on the bottom corners. Now i'm working on plastic case removing the less possible material.

That sucks b/c he states on his Elebest website/forum this works with both CIC & NBT. I have HU_CIC...

he wont answer any question on his forum if you from the US, i've never got a response from him. Even on his facebook page, he ignores the responses if your from the US. any chance you can call him & ask him what you have to do to get this work with a HU_CIC... he states it's plug & play (i understand the modification to the dash or monitor housing).
From ebay, I found 6550 9296939 05 9. Will this one work? It also says its F15 but made in china.

Will this work with F30 2015 with 6.6" screen with HU_ENTRYNAV?

The gentleman that installed it put a lot of time and effort into the piece.

This looks like a great solution. Can you share how the elevated platform is done? Thanks!

It was all custom molded.... then matched with oem wrap. No ideas on how he made it.
Does look nice though.
