you can't. as soon as you change the settings for the downpipe its not the stock tune anymore. The tune has to be 100% unchanged to lock the DME.

you can't. as soon as you change the settings for the downpipe its not the stock tune anymore. The tune has to be 100% unchanged to lock the DME.

No, Your car needs to have the DME relocked in order to transfer the license.

Another question about knocks...

I have an EWG with Wagner catted downpipe, Evo 2 comp cooler and upgraded chargepipe. I'm in Scandinavia and I'm fueling up with Shell Vpower 98 RON (also did when the car was stock). E85 is not available here anymore.

Initially I flashed the BM3 stage 2 93 OTS map. Some logs looked great, some looked not that great with timing pulled and knocks detected.

Some examples:

I switched to the stage 2 91 map, datalogged a few runs and PTF adviced me to stick to the 91 map. That's fine, but even on the 91 map with 93 (98 RON) fuel I'm getting knocks:

This one has two knock events on full boost which worries me.
The plugs are recently changed OEM's with stock gap.

Could the Shell fuel be my issue even on the 91 map? Or something else?

I've read through thejeremyman9's "how to" thread several times (thanks dude!), and I can't find other issues in my logs. IAT looks fine. Only thing I've noticed is the WGDC in higher RPM's, but I've read that's common for the 7.1 maps.

(Sidenote - from what I've seen the knocks are mostly ocurring when starting from low RPM in 4. gear (logging situations). I'm pretty sure I can feel slight hesitations when timing is being pulled. May be worth looking at buying 100% ethanol from a chemical store and mix it in your pump gas. Probably cheaper than octane booster.

That’s an option if the issue is octane related. It’s also possible to buy barrels of E85 for race fuel, I just need to find somewhere to store it as I live in an apartment block with shared parking space.

You need a larger dataset to really evaluate a potential knock issue. You have a few things you can try:

1. Try ACN map. Drive 50+ miles for adaptations (and/or reset octane one in particular), then get three 4th gear logs on the same tank of gas.

2. Try getting three 4th gear datalogs on a new tank of gas still on the 91 map

3. Try a "real" octane booster and see if the knocks go away and/or timing improves.

4. On either 91 or ACN map if you are still getting knocks (without octane booster) in 4th gear pulls, try a few 1-4 gear pulls (from standard start to top of 4th) and see if you knock. You dont need to use launch control or anything. just floor it from a stop.

it might be. that's why that map exists for the US. some places have really terrible fuel

thejeremyman9 First of all congratulations for the amazing guide on how to interpret datalogs.

How to reset only the Octane Adaptations? I've been using the bm3 and the option I have is "Reset Adaptations".
If I reset Octane Adaptations, for how long I need to drive before logging?

Flashed the ACN map but coding failed to apply twice. Flashed back to stock and will reach out to PTF support.

I use MHD so i am not exactly sure there is in within the BM3 software, but there should be a sub menu for adaptations. There are many adaptations... octane, throttle, etc. I forget the whole list but you should be able to reset them individually? Unless BM3 makes you reset all of them at once, which would be a little strange but not necessarily an issue. I would drive 50 miles under varying conditions to be sure (some city, highway, then a few WOT pulls before doing the actual logging).

Folks! Is it possible to change a VIN under same account/email address? I mean, if I sell a license via transfer, there would be a new email address for another guy, maps would not be transferred.

But, if I can change vin in my account I could give that account with reseted password to another guy and he might use maps as well.

If I sell a license via transfer, what will happen with my account? If I want to buy another license for another engine, will I lose my map pack?

you can't just change the vin. its done as a transfer and the map pack will be lost.
