Plug & play, no coding required.

(If the correct part number is fitted)

TPMS Receiver

Many thanks to BBri89 for his help in giving me the location of the receiver.
My car is a 2015 320D F31

After much cursing and swearing I can actually see what I believe to be the receiver tucked right up under the petrol cap side window. However, despite many attempts I cannot for the life of me see how to get the final piece of trim off.
Its the one in the picture , the plastic piece that the rear seatbelt goes through with the large protruding metal lug that the rear parcel shelf fastens on to. I have removed the three screws at the rear end of the panel as well as the two screws at the front of the panel, found underneath the rear seat side bolster. Also the two bolts at the bottom of the piece where the rear boot sliding cover clips into. Despite this the front section of the trim piece is still tightly attached.

Any help on this would be greatly received. TIA

I can't remember the exact step by step, but I think I ended up removing the carpet/fabric trim which revealed a few hidden screws underneath

Thank you so much guys.
3-GT that really does help, thanks for taking the time to post it.
One of the steps listed as ‘preliminary work’ is the ‘removal of the D- pillar trim panel’ and I wondered if you would be kind enough to post details of that operation from your manual?
Many thanks in advance

D-Pillar is a couple of torx screws in the bit where the rear boot cover slides up. Then it should just pull away.

Thanks both - now finally got to it and need to order a new receiver from BMW. It seems this receiver operates the Central Locking too -I take it that's normal?

I'm usually pretty mechanically minded but I have to say removing and replacing trim is right up top of my 'hate' list

Yep Tony, it's the central locking receiver as well.
Comfort Access/keyless entry use a different frequency, but normal key fob is 434kHz.

The new part is £70ish, probably not the same part number as they supersede a lot of these things, but might need ordering from BMW UK or even Germany.
At least you would hope the new superseded parts should fix some of the problems with older versions perhaps.

All fixed!

Thanks to help kindly provided I've sourced and fitted the new receiver. It has yet again been superceded by a new part see pic below of old part removed and package showing new part number.
For future info the trim was eventually quite easy to remove - once it was explained to me - and the part is plug and play. £66 from BMW.

If there isn't one behind the fuel tank then it will more than likely be using the remote control receiver like in some of the cases above.

Location on a F30 -

Appreciate this reply is way too late (apologies) but for the future reference of any M135i or F20 owners:
A new receiver module sorted my problem and is located behind this panel.
