340i full exhaust on 328i
Was planning on chopping the rear box off my 328i and mating the 340i rear dual box. I know the 340i pipes is slightly bigger and easily fix by a sleeve. But my question is, I have bought the whole 340i, used (only done 5k miles) system from the cat back, can I fix the whole system instead of cutting it all up?

It is not going to bolt on, if thats what you are asking, but it should fit with minimal modifications. You will probably have to cut and weld a few sections of your down pipe and the 340i exhaust, but it will be a nice upgrade and complement to an upgraded down pipe if done right. I would just buy a high flow downpipe, remove your entire factory exhaust/downpipe, install the upgraded down pipe, then take your car and the 340i exhaust to a competent exhaust shop and have them make it work. While they are merging everything together, they can cut off the 2.25" outlet of the downpipe, so you can have a full, true 3" exhaust.

Cheers mate.
Am thinking maybe to cut off the part to the cat from the 328i then replace that part to 340i system I will be adding a dp in future but for my 328i as the 340i upgraded dp won't fit? Or am I wrong in assuming that? |
