Possibly a Wikipedia myth but Steve Parish is said to have / had PEN15.
Slightly odd thing to want on your car!

I don't have any problem with personal plates and recently bought C1 EVA for my 12 year old daughter. In the meantime she lets me use it
What I do not agree with though are illegal fonts, illegal spacing and strategically placed screws to make a registration number appear to be something it isn't. The police can issue a £60 penalty but they rarely bother and DVLA can withdraw numbers for repeated abuse but I doubt it happens often. Despite playing around with number plates being big business isn't it about time that UK plates are standardised and stamped out on approved machines by approved suppliers, as is the case in many other EU countries? Feel better now............time to watch F1 highlights. |

We've both got plates.
My 325d is XX ROB, and my wife (Caroline) has CAZ XX (very low number) on retention at present, until she decides what we're going to get as a weekend car - then it'll go on that. And yes, I'm very aware you could just go onto MID / Confused, and find out what the XX is. |

Bought mine back in 2000, DVLA purchase at £500 K1 GKF Merseyside number but never issued? K2 GKF was half the price but I was told at the time that any Reg. with a "1" should be a good investment, number is currently on retention planning to put on the the new motor at the end of August just before the registrations change, wife wants to enjoy the 14 plate feeling for as long as she can!

I've got F11 KET which gets the odd look... never noticed any unwanted attention though!

Bought a personal plate for my wife years ago based upon her nickname that she got from a couple of friends of ours which has stuck. It was old style prefix and only cost us £250 and is single digit.
As we knew we were jumping out of the company car scheme I bought her a similar plate to go with the BMW with double digits but zero at the end. Don't mind personal plates but don't understand when they don't quite match what the owner want to spell out. George PS apologies for being cryptic but don't like my reg no plastered over forums for obvious reasons |

I have thought about this but I like the 14 plate currently cos it looks new,
have my eye on a cheap one that would mean only to me something. For any car out there i use MyCarCheck App on the iphone, pop in the reg and you see all the details, quite interesting with some de-badged cars pretending to be the real thing! Also interesting to see what cars people have very expensive plates on: BUG1 - Bugatti Veyron 2009 AMS1 - Rolls Royce Ghost v12 (Mr Apprentice himself) 2012 DW1 - This annoyed me cos my initials its on a Golf SE TSI 2010 H1 - Toyota Avensis 2003 DW7 - Mini Countryman 2010

I bought one for investment when pissed. Needless to say I still have it, no one wants it for what I paid for it and each year I have to fork out £25 reminder of what a bad investment that was. They can work out well, this one hasn't.
A T07 CAR if anyone is interested ....... |

Also seen BUG1 on the Veyron at Silvertsone 2 years ago. I've just bought my first personalised plate, PA11 LJJ........name being........PAUL JJ. I think its pretty good for £599. Ordered plates that have the gap slightly adjusted to put the L bedside the 11, so will see how long it takes to get pulled!!! Anyone been stopped for having a badly spaced number plate??

Yes we had a lad at work stopped and given x days to sort. He was a knob though and was rather large gap (bit like between his ears). On the PEN15 number plate, that will now just be on a wall some place. Since dvla law change on offensive plates a lot are banned, foul language, racist, religious, you name it, if some one takes offence at a number plate, then if proved offensive then it gets banned. |

I looked at almost the same with different surname initials but it looks like an 2011 reg plate to me making the car look older.
