1. Wheel torque. I found a figure on this forum of 103 ft lb for the 2016.....I'm assuming that it's the same for my 2015 regardless of which wheels it has.

2. Where's the oil filter and drain???

3. What's the oil capacity of the 335i's 6 cylinder engine.

4. Looks like BMW does not recommend tire rotation. True?

5. xdrive....... Can't find a word about it. No buttons, no indicators, only a label on the trunk!!! What did I miss??

The owners manual is quite vague on DIY maintenance, as it's something few owners do. Google what you want to do, you'll find a youtube video how to it.
There are no buttons or indicators for xDrive, the system is totally automatic.

1. 130 Nm. That information is included in my user manual.
4. I have read something about it somewhere in the manual. It is not recommended for Xdrive
5. There is a video about it in the interactive user manual. Apart from that - nothing in the car itself. Fully automatic and no status screen as on some X models.

Not sure on wheel torque I remember looking it up before and using my 110 nm impact gun torque wrench driver...

Oil capacity 6.5L

Drain plug, the only 17mm bolt that's visible on th undercarriage. There's a hole in the belly pan. Oil filter, buy a specialized oil filter wrench don't gouge the thing up with one of those 'one size fits all' ones

Tire rotation is fine if all wheels and tires are the same size, not often the case from OEM

1. F30 wheel lugs are 104 ft-lbs I believe. I just tighten them to about 102 ft-lb. Honestly, there is a lot of wiggle room with wheels. You can probably go as high as 120 ft-lb with zero issues.

2. Oil filter is in the engine bay under the hood. It's a cartridge type filter. Easiest oil change you'll do. Just remember to replace the gaskets. All decent oil filters will come with 2 new gaskets. The oil filter is housed in the black plastic round piece on the near right side of the engine close to the front. Oil drain is under the engine. There's a small access panel you can open. Can't miss it. There's one drain bolt there.

3. Oil capacity of the N55 is approx 6.5 quarts. I always fill to 6 quarts, run the engine oil measurement routine in iDrive, and fill up according to the gauge there.

4. You can rotate if you have a square setup. They don't recommend rotating because many cars are staggered. I believe many xDrive models are square so you can probably rotate. Just make sure your tires are all 225 width.

5. The xDrive system is a permanent AWD system. You should be able to see your front half shafts if you peer down the driver's side between the engine and strut tower. BMW's system is RWD biased and there's really nothing to adjust. The transfer case is connected between the transmission output and drive shaft.

We have oil cap answers of 6.5 L and 6.5 Qt. Those amounts are 5% apart!! What is the source??

Where can we find torque settings listed? Should know the oil drain plug and filter cap specs as well.

After installation, torque of all wheel bolts must be checked again. Wheel bolts must not be oiled!

Wheel bolts
M14/AF 17 - 140Nm
Screw in wheel bolts and evenly tighten crosswise by hand in order to centre the wheel rim.
Tighten wheel bolts to the prescribed tightening torque with a calibrated torque wrench in a crosswise sequence.
Check all the wheel bolts in the same order or retighten to the prescribed tightening torque again.

I'm sure you meant O-rings, not gaskets. There will be two of them, a large diameter one that goes on the oil filter housing cap, and a pretty small diameter one that goes on the tip of the oil filter "thingy" that the oil filter is installed onto in the housing cap.

It is 6.5L, which is just under 7 US liquid quarts (6.86847Q to be exact ). And I do the same as you - refill using 6 quarts, then use the oil level function in iDrive to add more and get up to the "Full" mark.

It's great for 2 situations:
(1) people who only ever need to torque lug bolts in this torque neighborhood
(2) people who torque lug bolts all the time.

The angled handle provides clearance specifically needed with wheels, it's always and issue with a regular non-flex-head torque wrench. Also it's pretty hard to make a dumb mistake like forgetting to convert units when it's preset.

You bring up a good point. I don't know the limits on my (2) 3/8 drive wrenches!!!! My other cars only needed around 80 ft-lb!! Gotta check.

Most 3/8" torque wrenches don't go up to 100 ft-lb. You usually need a 1/2" torque wrench for lugs. Considering accuracy isn't exactly critical for wheels, you can just get by with a cheaper $20 clicker just for wheel duty.

I didnot have torque wrench just tight wheel to how much i feel alright. And wheels stay on with no porblem for year.
