That's a waste of money, especially since you can't even sell the MHD license. Even if you switch to BM3, you're still only getting OTS maps. Just stick with what you have (whatever it is) and get a custom tune if you want to maximize power gains.

Do you have back-to-back logs or get on the dyno comparing the two side by side? Or, are we talking butt-dynos?

Stage 1 targets about 14PSI, Stage 2 17PSI and Stage 2 E30 17.5 PSI. Timing tables vary on all of them and also by octane. Remember it's not all about boost. Timing plays a huge role in how much power you make.

Switching to stage 2 soon as my downpipe comes in next week.

Anyway to check the maps we bought and see how they tuned everything ? I have a N26 328i

Stock psi is 14 no? Stage 1 feels amazing compared to stock. Full power at all rpms even after 6k. Would be crazy if stage 1 is stock boost just different timing.

AH...yeah those targets are for the N55 EWG. N26 runs higher boost. I don't know of any way to view the OTS map tuning tables.

So when you're in Econ mode with a bm3 , does it preserve the factory settings or does bm3 mess with those settings? Just curious as I try to keep it in Econ as much as possible for gas savings and go in sport+ when I go in the mountains on the weekends

CD is for the cable not the BM3.

the CD is usually a BMW programming tool that comes with the cable

Erratic throttle behavior

Hi

Anyone else suffering from erratic throttle behavior? This make the car very twitchy and unpleasant to drive at low speeds...

That's odd. Probably something to do with an existing version of Java installed or anti-virus. Send PTF a support ticket and they can remote in to help you out.

Yes, never got it resolved. I had gotten a revised ots map but it didn't make a difference and I lost interest in troubleshooting it.. The car is smooth right after a reset of the adaptations though, but after a few drives, the throttle goes back to the erratic behavior in low rpm, low throttle driving. I hope you resolve it so you can share!

Is there a way to disable the throttle adaptation? I really enjoy the throttle response after a reset but after a few drives it adapts to a throttle lag.

Question gents. I'm ready to purchase a bm3 license. A while back I had purchased iCarly easy coder so I could do things like make my drivetrain/chasis settings editable in sport and little things like have the mirrors auto fold when I lock.

Would I need to reset my cars coding back to stock even with those little edits before I download bm3?

Any advice is much appreciated

Now that I think about it I think mine has gotten worse during the last few drives also. Think I'll be back on stock map soon. Dont care much about the power if this is the sacrifice I have to make. Ditched the JB4 because of drivability issues.......but here we go again

Running the recommended plugs at. 018 inch. Stock coils @ 30k. No issues with bucking with stock tune with this hardware.

No, bm3 does not affect the coding you did with iCarly. The only thing you might notice is when reading fault codes with bm3. You may notice some faults caused by the coding. These faults do not interfere with the operation of the car though.

Reading stuff like this makes me re-consider if I should go with BM3. I have a JB4 that I paid $500 for....so, if I go and pay $600 will I make my car worse? I do a lot of low speed stop and go driving. Haven't seen anyone complaining about this with MHD.

Gap your plugs to 0.024". The tight 0.018" gap is notorious for causing light load bucking and rough idling issues.

Have one more question. Don't know if anyone would know this...... I'm working on getting stage 1, so doing some due diligence.

My manufacture date on my 2012 f30 335i is 11/2012. In late 2014, my DME fried from water damage and they had to ship a new one from Germany.

Does anybody know confidently if they would ship the current DME at the time or send an old one? Needing to know for install. Thanks!

Where have you gotten this info? Would be nice to know if that is the fix for this issue--especially for someone like me who is seriously considering going for a flash tune. I changed my plugs not long ago--put the Bosch ones in with factory gap.
