Overall a pretty long wait, but it was to be expected as my dealer did say 10-12 weeks for SA builds (mine came at about 11 weeks).

Question for all you fellow bimmer addicts! How long does the car usually takes from the time it arrives to US port till the dealer is ready to sell the car? The port my car will arrive is port Hueneme and the dealership is Steve Thomas BMW.

Yours go into production? Mine went in on Monday according to my dealer.

Well, this was a priority replacement for my '14, so I think they snagged an existing allocation (they had to change the configuration).

I ordered my BMW on 8/16 and it was documented the same day. It's awaiting production still with no production date ready.

I was told 6 weeks so I should have it by beginning of October but I'm hoping sooner.

Ordered my '15 335i sedan on 7/12 (Sat).
7/14 Went in to production
7/15 I had the VIN
7/18 was around when production was done
7/23 at the port waiting for a vessel
8/1 it was on a boat and I had it tracked in the English Channel between Rotterdam and London
8/15 it hit Brunswick, GA port (there was a stop at the Baltimore, MD port a couple of days before)
8/16 at noon, a truck had picked it up headed to Texas
8/18 in the late afternoon the car arrived at Classic BMW in Plano, TX
8/19 I took delivery of the car

37 days from start of production to final delivery. Not bad at all.

Hoping to get some pics by the weekend sometime!

July 4, 2014 - Production
Week of July 6 - Shipment out of Germany
July 31 - Ship arrived in Halifax, Canada
August 22 - vehicle delivered to dealership's overflow holding lot - first time I visually see and inspect the car.
August 28 (anticipated) - will view car after PDI and detailing
August 29 (anticipated) - sign papers, pay for car, and drive off the lot!

Total from deposit paid to delivery: approx 76 days.

I got a production number from my dealer and registered on the bmw website. The website basically says that there is nothing related to that number. According to my dealer I'm scheduled to begin production the 1st week of September. Is it normal for the bmw site to not have information this far back from production date? Order was placed August 3rd

Did u get your info from the automated system or did u speak to a rep?
