I've noticed that when going under an overpass or through a tunnel, my headlights (in the auto setting) will turn on and stay on for at least a minute when reentering into the daylight. Is there anyway to code this off? I find it annoying and I'd rather they switch back and forth much quicker when the ambient lighting changes. My headlights are halogen so please spare me the argument that it wears out the xenon/LED bulbs quicker or whatever. And no, I don't want to manually turn them off, I just want them to shut on/off automatically without a big delay. Thanks.

The timer is there for a reason- that way when you are driving at night your lights dont turn on and off when you drive under a bright streetlamp for example....

But I'm sure that you can adjust the timer values in bimmercode.

1. The g20 loaner I just drove didn't have this "feature", so I'm not entirely convinced it has any real benefit or purpose other than it being an attempt by bmw to preserve bulb life or satisfy some useless old DOT regulation.

2. Street lights are no where near bright enough to fool the light sensor. Often my headlights will turn on when the sun is still out and it's just a bit cloudy or overcast, meaning it would take A LOT of light to get them to shut off. I'm also not planning on setting these to 0 delay, just a more reasonable 5-10 seconds would be great.

3. I'm just asking is it possible, and if so, how. Telling me I can probably do it in bimmercode isn't really helpful, giving me specific coding values would be. It's not one of those things you can just adjust in easy mode.

Unfortunately that wouldn't help, the timer is independent of the rain/light sensor sensitivity and would have its own setting elsewhere.

I have an idea. Since the it says since 03/2013 the duration was changed. Change your FA build level to prior 2013 then code the FEM and see if it works then compare the files see what changed
