What year and mileage is your M3 ?
Just wondering as I’m thinking of changing mine too (18 plate 9K miles)
£42K seems decent ?

It's an 18 plate, @21k miles.

To be honest I almost can't believe it.

Its a good spec car, smb, full carbon, hud, hk. Etc but it needs two new rear tyres, a break fluid change, and there's a small scuff in the front alloy, all declared.

I've run some numbers, I bought the car for just under £63k, getting £42k back, it's on 0%apr so I'm getting over £7.5k back. So the cars cost me a smudge over £13k over 3 years. As far as m car ownership goes, I think that's pretty damn amazing.

Yeah that 42k offer considering the other 1k of bits that need doing is amazing however the next car will not be a bargain either as everything is up.

It is madness at the moment. I paid £64,400 for my RS4, after 6 months and 3000 miles, WBAC are saying £60,500.... I could get back nearly all of my deposit if I sold now....

As there is nothing I would rather have I wont be taking them up on their kind offer, just wanted to see how crazy the market is. Nearly as bad as houses it seems!

You could probably get even more for it through Motorway or Wizzle.

The headline WBAC valuation on my GTI has gone up by more than 10% in the last month alone... Given there is zero damage to it (even all 4 wheels are spotless) I cannot imagine they would knock it down too much...

Obviously, for me, it will be interesting to see if this holds as delivery of my 135 gets closer, or if this is a bit of a blip/spike...

Thanks, much appreciated , mine is similar spec with lower mileage - but tyres and wheels prefect. I may try a few others to see as I have my eye on another car. Interesting that dealers are offering less as px, obviously hoping to make a chunk on it too.

As I mentioned, very impressed with Motorway. They have very good reviews on trust pilot too.

My experience was that I sold to a VW main dealer so a seamless sale.

Normal dealership driver turned up, had a quick look over it for what only appeared to be 5 minutes then agreed its all good.

He rang the dealers accounts dept, finance paid off and the remaining money straight into our bank account.

Not seen the car for sale yet on the dealers website, but will be interested what they put it up for.

I bought my SL400 from a Mercedes dealer a month ago for 54k, WBAC are offering almost 55k. Mercedes Exeter are advertising a similar one for nearly 70k. Madness!

Stuff really is in ultra short supply. A month ago there were 20 or so of these listed, now there are only two and they have just appeared. They used to be available brand new at 54k...

The used market is bonkers as everyone is saying .Ive been looking to pick up an XE p250. Low mileage used examples on the Jaguar website are more expensive than buying new - which you can't do anyway because of the global chip shortage. Mad situation

The lease on my car from vwfs runs out in July so one of the options is to get a purchase valuation from BCA, which I did (£19557) so of course I then did a WBAC valuation (£19805). As the car is totally unmarked cant see them being able to knock much off it, just doesn't make sense!

I can buy it off them then sell it back to them for more money (I know this does not include any possible fees!).

Sounds like an easy win! From what I e seen it's easy to get more than WBAC from other brokers as well. An easy £1k in the making there I'd say if you can get it closed out quickly.

Market is very odd at the moment. 6th May I was offered £24770 for my 2017 S5 via WBAC, today it’s £26k.....madness....!

Evans have offered £30400 for the 540i, which is an increase of a few hundred £’s since the the start of the month.

Problem is replacement cars are ridiculous prices too

WBAC now £23600 for my 18 plate 340i. Only paid £30k pre reg.

When I bought it I was fully expecting £15k part ex at 3 years old.

No finance, cash buy, hardly use it - might be a good time to bin it and just use the other cars in the family that are sat there doing naff all.

Our Mini keeps going up too. It's actually the highest valuation it's ever been since we bought it, and if i'd chopped it in 18 months ago i'd be £2k worse off than chopping it in now.

As others say though it's all relative, we'd be looking at £22/23k to replace ours now for what we paid at £19.5k.

Question is, how long will these values hold? I'm waiting for new car in September and need to sell current motor prior to this date. Undecided at the moment whether to cash in now but be with out a car for 3 x months (which will be a pain), or wait until September but risk values falling. Weird situation to be in so any advice welcome.....

I tried it today for my well loaded 2016 430d gran coupe and I'm getting about £13500 from WBAC and £13300 from motorway.

Is this good or bad?? I was thinking of chopping it in, getting a nearly new fiesta or suchlike for commuting and then finding a good fun car for, you know, fun.

I'm in the same boat, my X5 has moved from a guide price of c.£30k to over £33k in the last month or so. I'm expecting a July date for delivery of the new car but tempted to just chop it in now. As it stands I'd have a small amount of positive equity which I wasn't expecting at all.

July isn't too long to wait and I'm not sure there will be much movement in that time. You may be alright hanging on a bit. September is a bit further off and god only knows where values will be then...
