Pressure Washer recommendations

I've had a few Karchers, and they'd been fine, till the current one - A K7 Premium. It's been crap quite frankly. Great when it works properly, but half the time it's not, or the accessories leak. So it's time for a new one, and I'm not going Karcher again.

There's been a few threads over the years, and I remember people seemed to moving more towards the Nilfisk stuff, or even the Kranzle ones.

I want something high quality, robust, long hose, just does the simple stuff well. I don't need bluetooth control, or electronic heads, or any other fancy shit!

Accessories should be simple to use, not leak, and the thing just work when you switch it on.

With a large patio to clean, and two large cars, and a free water supply, I want good flow rate and pressure to make those jobs as quick as possible.

I don't think we need commercial, but higher end home/consumer is probably ideal - please let me have your recommendations.

I have both Nilfisk and Kranzle:

Nilfisk: https://www.nilfiskoutlet.co.uk/prod...ct.asp?id=5561

Kranzle: https://kranzle-pressure-washers.co....with-hose-drum

2 cars (Jazz and the F31); long driveway (concrete); newish garage and patio at the back and I reach for the Nilfisk every time...!

It replaced a Nilfisk C120 that I bought in 2010; it died early last year... I do look after my tools; but it also shows how well made they are

Parts are also a lot more readily available for Nilfisk

I use this short trigger kit and 10m extended rubber hose:

https://www.directhoses.net/collecti...28568993988686

I've got one of their snowfoam cannons and 2 Autobrite ones also; all for Nilfisk

The Kranzle I'm probably going to sell as it rarely gets used and TBH it was an impulse buy haha

Can’t fault my direct hoses black 9. Got the 25m hose reel too, it’s great!

Real life experience is what counts!

Why doesn't the Kranzle get used?

I was leaning towards the Nilfisk P200. The P180 would probably be fine, but the current 10m hose I have on the Karcher is ever so slightly too short to be ideal, so a 12 or 15 metre hose would be perfect.

Kranzle - reassuringly heavy and robust. Well I haven't broken it yet in 5 years of moderate use (cars and patio).

While I’d recommend my current Nilfisk (https://www.cleanstore.co.uk/product...t.asp?ID=16380), which I’ve had for about 10 years, over my past Karcher every time, the Nilfisk is not perfect.

If it falls over, the hose winding handle will break off. Do not keep it in the shed in winter as freezing water will damage internal plastic parts.
I’ve had to replace the outlet pipe several times. It’s plastic with a metal clip and the plastic wears agains the metal.

Other than that it’s great.

Easy enough to replace those parts that break?

Oh it does get used; I used it last week to blast off the rear patio area and get rid of all he coal dust on the flags and blasted the garage side off as the K-Rend was going a little green along the bottom...

But for car washing and general use; the Nilfisk for me does it all very well and all the parts I have are for Nilfisk

The Nilfisk is lighter, easier to move about and the DirectHoses 10m rubber hose is perfect for my needs (perfect length too)

It's all preference really...

I looked at the more expensive Nilfisks; but decided that if the C120 did the jobs I needed it to do for nigh on 12 years without fail (I wash the cars weekly, all year round (contacless over winter etc) then why spend nearly 3 times as much?

Yes. It’s just annoying as it’s poor design that could be easily fixed.

Ok understood. Almost worth considering a small and light one for quick and easy use, and a larger, more heavy duty one for larger jobs?

You'd think that; but the Nilfisk does it all; that's why I' going to sell the Kranzle as TBH; it's just a paperweight now...

The Nilfisk works perfectly whether I'm washing / detailing the cars; blasting the flat roof out the back; cleaning the garage sides off or cleaning long concrete driveway and patio/garden path out the back...

And; if anything goes wrong its much cheaper to fix/replace parts!

I use a Karcher K4 (I know you want to move away from that brand, and this isn’t a recommendation) which sits in the garage permanently with its own supplies for power and water.

Above the Karcher I have a wall-mounted hose winder reel with 20M of reinforced narrow bore rubber hose with Karcher beads fittings which I bought (complete) from eBay.

The hose is long enough to comfortably run right through the house to the rear patio when it needs cleaning.

Not having to move the pressure washer around makes things much quicker and easier.

Got a Nilfisk P200 at Christmas to replace a P150 that was still working well after 7 or 8 years. It didn’t really need replaced but I told the wife it was my Christmas present so I didn’t get any more jumpers!
The P200 is a fantastic machine with plenty of power and more important is the volume of water flow. The 15m hose is also brilliant for working around large cars.

I've got the P150 and it's been used regularly for the last 7 years and it has never missed a beat! I thought about changing it to a Kranzle, but why? it keeps going and still looks fairly new!

Karcher are just rubbish!

I have a Kranzle 1050p with a 30m hose reel in the garage. Saves loads of time messing around and its fantastic... Well it was when i got chance to wash the cars, but with a new Baby that doesn't really happen much anymore!

Build quality feels incredible. Im sure my son will be using it in many years to come!

That hose reel does sound a great idea; issue for us is I'd have to get water plumbed into the garage...

I was tempted by Kranzke when buying but other than hearing about great build quality I couldn’t see much reason to go for one. Even at much higher prices than my Nilfisk the specs were much inferior and given my old Nilfisk was still going strong after a lot of use I don’t think there is much wrong with them.

I'd go for the Nilfisk P200, its got 200psi and Kranzel that is double the price only has 150psi

150 is more than enough for home use though, but why not have the option to have more! We are Men, we like more power, More is better!

But get the auto nozzle https://www.cleanstore.co.uk/product...ct.asp?ID=3563 or you’ll have a sliver car in no time.

Remember there is a difference between pressure and flow!
