If you have not done so already, try turning off everything on your phone that is not needed for coding (wifi, cell data, etc) so that the only thing running is the Bimmercode app and your BT interface device. That should help eliminate potential sources of connection issues.

Bimmer code carplay
Hello, Thinking of purchasing bimmercode and also the dongle - I had carplay and VIM usb solution prior to Christmas.
My car had to go back into BMW for warranty repair, when it came back all the code had been removed so no more car play etc... I have tried to install the USB files once again, but this time the car will not read the USB files so it just does not load I am sure I read on here that because BMW have installed new software the code wont work. What I want to know before I purchase Bimmercode and relevant adapter will I be able to code Carplay back into my car through this method and also other codes. Does anybody know why old files don't work is it because of software? |

Bimmercode - Awesome
For those thinking of Bimmercode, I can thoroughly recommend it on Android with a WiFi dongle thingy.
Honestly, things for BMW don't normally come this good for this cheap. It's even idiot proof, well almost, I see complaints that it doesn't cover certain cars or functions. Darwin award anyone? With minimal effort (or brain power, so some of you will be OK) I have coded the following: ID5 - ID6 (this took a little more effort for sure) Rear Lights - LED to match my upgraded LCI lights Rear Lights - Daytime running (bloody awesome) Comfort Access . Reduce time (at last) Lights . Welcome home extended 60s (I have a long drive) Front Lights washers . Reduce frequency (waste of water) Tailgate stuff including: Boot close . Button driver's door (hang on, there's a button there!) Boot close 1 touch remote (Stephan is my God) Boot close . Delay 1 sec (Bad luck opportunist thieves) Door window . Close even as door open window lifter interruption (Stupid BMW) Sports display . Colour to red (I'm sure the car is faster now) Door handle lights on reversing (Just because I can) Indicators flashing on locking and unlocking . Increase by 1 (Blinking hell) Engine start . In ecomode (Hoping it would quiet MPPR - it didn't) Display in board computer . Not active (Why do I want to know the date) Display options idrive.... Tyre pressure and temperature (now if only it would pressure they should be) Start Animation - change to suit mood Volume popup . Not active (I can tell how loud it is, why do I need a scroll bar) Daytime running lights. Checkbox in idrive (everyone needs a box to check) Shut off idrive when n open door (Don't wan't the neighbourhood hearing Judas Priest). And no doubt more to come. |

Out of interest, if you insert a usb with, say music files, is it being read? I would just make sure USB port is actually working. If USB is working then waiting a few weeks may help. With regard to BMW blocking usb fsc codes, anything is possible, I would try asking on the coding and programming forum, they usually know if these sorts of games are being played. The alternative may be to get CarPlay code put back into your FA using E-sys remote coding. Good luck, I hope you get it back. |

@T88BOB
Nice list, the changes I made which gave me most satisfaction (unfortunately Some are in expert mode ) - Stop/Start - remember last setting - so when I turn it off, it f*88i** stays off. - reversing - parking sensor/camera remaining on screen for ages after it needs to - coded so it goes off after I drive 10m forward instead of 50m - door locked from outside with engine running, coded horn off, no more irritating neighbours if I want to warm/defrost the car at 5a.m Anyhow, a man has to have a hobby. Hi guys, I’ve used Bimmercode and an icar pro dongle from Amazon. Pretty happy with the results, coded the start stop, the idrive to turn off on door open, my rear tailgate to close on the wee switch on the door post by the OBD port. Also Switched Taillights on permanent like I had on my E92. Did pooh my pants though when the phone said it was resetting the ECU and the Idrive came up with a front light fault and a long list of other stuff. After changing my undies, and resetting ignition all appeared fine.

Hi
Ecu is FEM body - opening and closing windows via key fob 3053 KOMFORTOEFFNUNG_FB nicht aktiv —> aktiv (This is set for open) 3053 KOMFORTSCHLIESSUNG_FB nicht aktiv —> aktiv ( This sets closing) Please note FEM body coding can take up to an hour to work, so code, lock car and go away for an hour then return and check. This is part of Comfort access settings. With these settings set to activ you can open car with key fob, keeping button pressed for more than a second will then either drop or close windows. Similar setting for mirror open/close (IF you have power mirrors). P.S I do not have F30 or FEM body so have not personally checked settings but have all these active in my F48 within BDC ecu. Think these and many more coding options can be found in the F30 cheat sheet, try tracking down in Bimmerfest coding forum. |

See earlier repliy. In FEM body, in expert mode search under Komfort, for rear windows I think ****_hinten (hinten is rear in German) So search Oeffnung & hinten etc. But I just looked in Bimmercode app and most comfort settings are now available in easy non-expert mode. If front windows working in comfort and not rear then go through FEM body 3053. Searching and setting hinten settings to aktiv. Remember you need to all0w an hour for code change to work. |

I have an F48 so exact Ecu may be different for your F30 (e.g I have BDC not FEM etc). Luckily there is a search facility in expert mode. I have not recorded whether function is in BDC or HU, but change is below, it changes distance at which rear view (either sensor schematic or camera disappears from CID. PDC_DISTANCE_SWITCH_OFF_THRESHOLD. change value 50m—->10m (or choose) |

Hm. But then its not granted that the same dongle will also work on iOS.
Check here: https://www.bimmercode.app/adapters/
