Heated Steering Wheel retrofit parts - Price reduced

Following on from this thread: https://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...steering+wheel

I purchased this retrofit kit a while back with the intention of fitting it to my 435i, which had lane departure warning. However, since switching over to a G22 they’ve sat on a shelf ever since.

All parts have not been fitted and are effectively brand new and consists of:

61316823468 – Steering column lower trim panel
61319201736 – Heated steering wheel push button (including wire and connecter plug).

BMW are wanting £107.36 for these and I’m wanting £60.00 including P&P.

Item now on eBay: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/204759678...mis&media=COPY

Cheers,

Charles

Potentially looking at doing this retrofit myself as I already have the heated steering wheel. What else is needed for this retrofit? Don't you need a new steering wheel column as well?

No, all you require is the trim panel (to house the button) and the button itself.

Additionally, you will need to do a bit of coding but all the hardware is shown.

If you refer to the post made Hugrov, which I included in my post, it details the process and includes YouTube links on how to remove the airbag etc

Pretty easy mod if you already have the heated steering wheel itself.. I sadly don't would need a different wheel, would need a different set of clock springs as well as the items listed here which has put me off to be honest.

Good luck with sale I've thought about it for the last two winters but haven't caved in yet

Ah, excellent. Thanks!

Seen other threads where you need an electronics module (just seen another reply calling for clock springs too), not sure if UK specs already have this installed.

Currently in the process of selling my F30 in order to upgrade to an F31. Most of the specs I'm looking at don't come with a heated steering wheel and it's definitely something I'll miss and definitely something I'll be retrofitting. I'll keep you in mind once I've sold and purchased my new car

I dont think this is quite correct, although the parts listed will be required for an upgrade.
Its almost certain that the indicator switch will also be required as that is what the heated wheel switch plugs into, and it will not have the terminals in the socket if it hasnt been specced to go with the heated wheel - these are expensive !!!!
The wheel itself needs to have also come with its heating control box.
A bare wheel, although heated may be missing this, again - expensive.

Yes, obviously, the potential buyer will need to check that they have the necessary wheel/hardware etc in place, hence my reason for linking the thread in my original post (which explains the checks they can do to ensure compatibility).

My '17 440i only needed switch, cowl and a bit of coding.
Its one of those things that you think are only for pussies....but then use it all the time in winter.

Going to look at an F36 440i next Friday with LDW so this is perfect for a retrofit.

Will you be putting it on the famous auction site by any chance? If so, could you give me a message? I have nectar vouchers I want to use up, thanks!
