Once you drive and hear both, I think you will feel differently.

I drove both, if you need the power than the 335 for sure, but the 328 is marginally slower and handles better imo.

Dont get me wrong ive owned an FBO N54 with meth and im all for power,

im just saying in the past i would have never considered a 328! now the gap is much smaller both cars are great sports cars, and can be tuned to achive more power.
making the higher MPG more balanced and Cheaper car Very Tempting!!!

Hmmmm........

Wonder why the C&D test of 5.2/5.3 sec's was so slow then. Either it is the new intake/exhaust or the 335 they tested was an aberration.

Who knows????

driven both as well. The power difference is still evident. Love the increased power of the 335. The handling advantage of the 328 can barely be felt. Yes on the track the 328 might handle better but for a DD id take the 335 over the 328 anyway. Especially b.c the lease payment difference is minuscule ($40ish). And if your on the track you should be in a different car all together. wouldn't want either the 335 or 328 on a track anyways.

There is no way the price difference is 40 a month, maybe a loaded 328 vs a base 335...but a 335 with leather and sport will be at least 100 more.

My 328i was $47795 (Luxury Line), 335i was $52295 (sport line). Came out to a $40 difference.

Both had similar options. (besides the line difference). Sport line on the 335 is only $1700 tho. Luxury line on the 328i is $2100, sport line is only $400 more.

The price difference between the 328 & 335 that similarly optioned is only about $4000. So $4000 * 38% (100%-62% residual)= $42

It's not always a money issue for people to choose for the 328i

Still dont see how $4000 equates to 40 bucks a month...its like $25 for every 1000...Its juts impossible. Not trying to be an ass here, i am very good with financing calculations, just dont understand how you are coming up with those numbers

Right now, with the current lease programs, I could lease the exact same optioned 2012 335i or 328i, sold at $1250 over invoice for a difference of $45.24/month.

Those are the numbers, period. I chose the 335i.

I'm happy to map it all out, if necessary.

$4000 price difference.
62% residual (15k/year).

SOooo

$4000 * 62% residual = $2480

$4000-$2480= $1520

$1520/36= $42.

Rough crude math without interest; etc. But it is no where near a $100 difference.

Exactly

I was going to go with the 328 as well. But for $40-$45 difference I'm happy i made the decision to go 335. Especially when the mpg with the new 8 speed auto is only 2-3 mpg.

There may be nothing new here, but I for one am glad to hear it's still the same good engine. I love my 335i. The new 328i seems tempting, but I'm not sure either I could give up the inline-6 engine. It's just a remarkable engine - still is, even though it may be "yesterday's news".

what you guys are not considering is that that 6 cylinder is barely breaking a sweat, whereas the 4 cylinder is working its ass off. The 6 will be a more long-lasting and reliable engine.

I think the crank figures posted are wrong mathematically. What am I missing here?

275whp * 1.15 = 316.25hp to the crank. Not 324hp as claimed.

Am I not taking into account something? I see this is not the first time this translation has been done incorrectly also.
