M3 cost per mile

Whilst taking delivery of the wife's new X1 on Thursday I spotted this in the showroom. Don't know obviously what the original owner payed for the car or what he got as a trade in value but it must have been a hugely expensive ownership experience

Considering you can buy a pre reg 2018 M3 CP with 100 miles on the clock for 50k I don't think this person lost too much. Hell it may have been a demo car for BMW UK

This is an 18 month old car so it's done its first big jump.

That's why I'm mulling over buying a nice 18 month old example myself!

My preference is Silverstone too... where this car?

I don't think that car would have been £50k 18 months ago. Bur the cost per mile must be high.

JCT600 in Bradford. Looked to be absolutely mint but only spent a few minutes looking at it.

That does sound good. It's even registered in March 17 so just avoids the luxury tax, in case anyone requires some help with their man maths...

RRP would have been around £94K and would have sold originally for about £67K

Will have a warranty until March 2020

Thats a smarter buy than an M3 or M4 new or otherwise.

I think M5’s are around £450 a year due to their CO2?

Just done some searching, it’s actually £540 a year

https://www.parkers.co.uk/bmw/5-series/m5-2011/car-tax/

Fack that. Cheaper to tax one after April 2017.

I think is good value

M5 Comp Pack £540 / 600bhp = 90p per 1 BHP

M4 Comp Pack £450 / 450bhp = £1.00 per 1 BHP

The M5 is cheaper!

That's man maths at it finest

I do like the M5 but whatever I get then Mrs Tengocity needs to comfortable driving it, and she isn't so keen on cars the size of the 5 series.

I've had a few goes recently with MarkG_M3CP's M3 CP on both a back road blast and a rush hour commute and liked it very much.

So currently thinking to keep the Boxster and swap the 335d for an M4. It's either that or keep the 335d and buy a newer Porsche. Just can't decide, though likely wait till spring next year. First world problems and all that.
