Fuel tank leak - 320D 2013
Hey.
Driving home from work today I thought to myself, "Did I not have 1/2 a tank yesterday? hmmm and why is my rear windows so dirty, I just washed the car". As I arrived and stepped out I could immediately smell diesel, Got down on all four and found the fuel tank, wheel, rear right suspension parts etc soaked. When I then was under the car looking for the leak with a flashlight, I couldn't find anything because of all the plastic everywhere.. I had the car turned on when I looked under it, it wasn't leaking so it seamed to be on the top of the tank and would spill out as I was driving. Removed the rear seat and opened the hatch to gain access to the fuel pump. This is what I saw: View post on imgur.com View post on imgur.com View post on imgur.com What do you think is the problem? I first noticed the little hole there but how would that break? I assume it's there to let air in the tank? Do you think It's the seal around the fuel pump assembly that's leaking? Is this a common/known problem for my model/year? Thanks. |

Looks like it's a blind end. You can maybe try to repair it, or simply replace the whole fuel pump assembly.
