I just got the reply from the supplier and apparently, this is normal behaviour as the unit does not have a build-in battery. Does the Avin unit behave in the same way?

Yeah, is there a site that we can check to grab the latest firmware for the AVIN? I emailed them a day or so ago and of course, no response.

Additionally, I noticed there was an update for Autoplay. When I have the unit download and attempt to install it, it says the install file is corrupted. Any having that issue?

I've got the same issue, and I didn't find any solution..
Let's wait for next update, actually the version I have now doesn't give problems..

Curious if anyone out there has tried the beta of iOS 12 with the CarPlay adapter and the AutoPlay CarPlay app?

As the formal release of iOS 12 is just around the corner, I'm nervous to upgrade until I know if I'll still have my CarPlay functionality - that I use 100% of the time in my car.

If AutoPlay & the adapter work on beta of iOS 12, its pretty likely it still will when the public release happens.

Can confirm with iOS 12 GM (final version that will be pushed next week), there are no issues. Additionally, Google maps and Waze are not compatible yet. Hoping for an update to them for carplay support as advertised before.

Hi, I also noticed that the volume button no longer works to activate the radio in engine shutdown mode.

Another thing that I noticed, I do not know if it happens to me, that the button to see the 360 cameras does not work for me being Android.


my screen came with this branch
with cables that do not know what they are, do not occupy them.

Is anyone running AutoPlay 2018.08.06.1340 and iOS12? I had been running it with no problem the past few months and now all of a sudden AutoPlay doesn't recognize when I plug in my iPhone. The Avin unit, however, notices that it's plugged in and shows the USB icon in the top taskbar area.

Has anyone successfully updated to 2018.09.03.1744 yet?

i have this Firmware installed on my device.


There are 3 Modes for Parking Monitor.
1st Mode is Aftermarket Camera. This one is Faulty it shows me Camera but Parking Sensors not working.
2nd Mode is Original Camera. This shows original Parking screen with parking sensors only.
3rd Mode 360° Camera Mode. Didnt test this much cause it only works with reverse driving Signal.

I want to use Mode 1 because it detects the Reverse Mode automaticly from CAN and stays there until i finished(not only reverse driving i mean).
The Parking Sensors on Mode 1 showing wrong. Front is always MIN and Back is always MAX.


Can Someone give me another Version of the Firmware Maybe ?
So i can Test another Version.

I asked to AVIN for the last firmware to correct the no signal issue, they sent me the file BMW-PX3-Android71__2018-07-17.zip .

I saw here newer firmware than this one... Does someone have a link to update to the lastest ? I heard they corrected the no signal issue?

The no signal issue had been solved by removing the splitter for the GPS.
I doubt if the software had influence..

Yes, I updated to 2018.09.03.1744 a couple weeks back. CarPlay worked fine for me.

The problem now is that either the AutoPlay app or the USB dongle do not recognize an iPhone running iOS 12 (at least for me). Luckily I tested this on my old 6S Plus that I just updated to iOS 12. Gotta keep my current iPhone on iOS 11 until a fix is released.

I want to keep using my factory Microphone for my phone, as it is just closer and better. If i am using a navigation map on the avinusa screen, and someone calls my phone. Will i be able to pick up the phone using the idrive/steering wheel button. And then talk on the phone while the navigation app is running? (Very important for me that i can still pick up the phone, then using the factory Bluetooth and MIC while navigating.) - I would imagine that the built in microphone in the screen wont be very good, and i am not interested in fitting a new external one, as i have a perfect one already installed in the car.

I am also often on the radio screen, while the navigation is running. Then before i have to make a turn etc, the Oem system will show up on the screen showing where i have to turn. Is this also possible?

As i have read, bluetooth from the cars radio does not work while android screen is running.

This is all that is keeping me from ordering this tomorrow, as it looks really good, and will be a welcome upgrade visually for the car.

9/19 UPDATE: Last night I had my buddy with an iPhone X that he just updated to iOS 12 plug into my unit. CarPlay worked. The issue must be something weird with my old iPhone 6S Plus. I updated my iPhone X to iOS 12 and used CarPlay on my way to work this morning, no problems.

I had the same problem with my CarPlay after iOS 12 what I did was unplug the dongle from the HU cleared all apps then plugged it back in then connected the iPhone back again and it’s all good now working fine 😃
