Re Map.

Getting my 17 plate 335d mapped next week. Will also have egr delete. Anyone had any issues over the years. Figures expected are 378 Bhp and 760 nm. Thanks in advanced.

Hi mate I had my 2016 done end of last year. Not her delete just panel filter and bigger intercooler. It made 407hp 801nm 👍🏼 I'm not to sure what you'll gain with the egr delete

Just think it's a bad idea to put exhaust gasses back into the clean air.

Leave the egr alone and just get the remap. Mines around 400...

Nothing wrong with deleting the EGR with the map .. it's a crock of shite on these cars anyway.
Wish I'd have got mine done when it was remapped now.

I've read that the gearbox is 'safe/rated' to 700nm? Obviously plenty of people have mapped well over 700nm but what is the common on consensus on where the actual limit is?

Shane you had any problems at 801nm?

I previously had a Civic which I had mapped and developed clutch slip as it couldn't handle the torque. It was a manual gearbox though, would the ZF be able to protect itself against this?

Garage List
Had my 15 plate 335d done at Unicorn and git 373 bhp and 750nm so not a lot to be gained with egr removal really.

Did a post asking re gearbox issues and as far as I found no one had any real issues. Have a chAt with Rick at Unicorn, very knowledgeable chap.

.
Except for reducing the build-up of the carbon deposits in the intake manifold and other parts including the EGR valve. This build up in the valve is often what causes them to fail, and they fail a lot on the F3x cars!

It's not like DPF either, I don't think you need to physically remove the EGR (so you can always revert to standard) it's just a case of coding it to be permanently closed?

Yes they can just code it, absolutely no need to remove it physically.

Depends who's mapping it for you. Unicorn? Unlikely. Joe Bloggs in some back street garage for £100? Probably.

Just get the map; leave egr to go it’s job, and budget for a walnut blast every once in a while.

I’m clearly in a minority here however air quality issues are real I’m afraid and undertaking this type of work isn’t helping, sorry
