Engine light won't go. Help
Heres the issue
i have a 2010 528i. I installed a cold air intake long time back and engine light came on. I used to be able to tighten it and it would go off and get my inspection passed before Eventually i decided to get rid of cold air intake and install a used stock intake (whatever the car came with) . then the engine light went off for some time and now it came back ON and i cant seem to fix it it gives 2c31 code. my mechanic tried everything. clean sensors and intake. install new 02 sensors both upstream and reset codes. did smoke test and found no leak on intake, still engine light will come back after 25 miles of driving my mechanic is scratching his head now. Anyone have any thoughts on what i should do |

Do you know whether the first time the light came on (when you installed the intake) it was also the same code? And how long between taking the intake off and the check engine light coming on again?

I thought about saying something snarky, but in an uncharacteristic display of restraint, I have refrained from doing so.
Even though I'm fairly positive the OP can read all the subforums available, including the mechanical maintenance and DIY guide subforums...but for some reason chose this subforum. Who knows, it is OT after all, someone may be helpful. |
