B58 Variants
Anyone heard anything like this?
https://bimmerlife.com/2018/11/01/b5...brings-388-hp/ Not sure if this is true...if so, I am not doing any mods to mine. May just keep it stock and keep her for as long as it will not nickel and dime me. Still a good ride. But, would have been nice to know they are going to make subtle changes to the engine to make it more powerful. Maybe parts can be swapped later to make it like what the are projecting the Z40 M and new G20 3 series B58.

If anyone can confirm there will be engine variants to the B58, please send some more info. Personally, it will help determine the course I take with power mods. Others may feel the same way. Based on the article, the 340 has the weakest B58.

Forget about following my logic. Have you heard of B58 engine variants coming to other models, as the article states?

Um, quite frankly, where have you been?
This is very old news. And it's no secret BMW does engine variants. They've been doing this for decades? This feels like when a kid finally figures out it wasn't the tooth fairy actually putting money under his/her pillow. |

You could have taken about 5 minutes to search instead of asking a simple question. Remember being rude on the forums gets you nowhere.

The article mentions a revised timing chain on the front. Was it relocated from the rear to the front of the engine?

Yeah me too - but typically people that put on airs and overstate their stature in life can't stop swinging which in and of itself is a sign of their weakness / we'll see if our physical therapist can stay away or cant help himself and has something to prove to a bunch of on-line strangers. Given his "your momma" type comments I know it'll be a struggle let's see what he does.
This time I've even explained it all - I wouldn't respond to me :-) And by the way so I can ad something - yes many variants to the B58 - going to be a great ride to see what happens with each release and see what the tuners and others can offer in terms of cross-pollination of parts. I started with BMW in 85 - and these are indeed exciting times |

Who said he was a doctor? He could be the office manager. Or the receptionist.....

A receptionist would have had time to scroll down and read the other threads on this.

This is really amusing...a guy with a PT certificate runs a medical practice Bahahaha - kind of like a chiropractor insisting that you call them a Dr...yeah no.
That aside: OP did you ever get your "variants" question answered or come to realize that people were not responding to you from their moms basement Oh that's right you can't respond because you are busy stretching someone #medicalpracticeofone Last edited by RTPenland; 03-28-2019 at 10:53 PM.. |

Me actually taking the high road: Yes, OP, it's been confirmed. There are variants that already exist and more that are coming. |
