N47 Injector Replacement DIY

Has anyone replaced injectors? If so tips? Also is it hard to code injectors? That is the part that I am concerned with. Thanks!

The physical replacement is easy, 15 mins each, tops. They pull out by hand.

Be extra careful with the fuel return clips on top. They can get fragile and break. Simply clean the bore if it's dirty, do not grind or anything invasive like that!!!!
Original injector is lubed on the outside with some grease, you should do the same.

Coding depends on what tools you have. It's as hard as typing in a few numbers and letters.

Will be doing this soon as well given the 24BB00 code I just got today. What coding is involved to recalibrate the new injector?

It's basically a registering the new code that is inscribed on the injector body, into the engine ecu with BMW diagnosis software.
Usually you can use ISTA-D or even Tool32.

Some mobile diag apps may do it too.

Thanks for the input, looks like a relatively simple process for coding. Any idea if this can be done in BimmerLink/BimmerCode? Otherwise looks like I need to get set up with ISTA-D

*EDIT* contacted BimmerLink support and this function is not supported

Is there any mobile software that can do this? All I have is bimmercode app and a vgate dongle right now. I have no issue using ista or esys but I don't have it and don't know where to begin with it (sourcing it and using it). I've coded other cars before but never done it with a bmw.

Bumping this - Anyone find a tool that can register the new injector? I have a foxwell BMW scanner and it doesnt appear to be able to. Just got the 24BB00 for injector #1.

Thanks!

If you have the BMW Standard tools pack (INPA, tool32, etc) on Windows with ENET cable or K-DCAN:

Run Tool32 program (as administrator) while correctly set up and connected to car:

1. File -> Load SGBD

2. Load D70BX7A0.prg
(2b. Check your connection by running job "ident" with Start Job Once only button. Result should be an ID number)

3. Read current Injector coding with job "abgleich_ima_lesen" (located in the upper 1/3 of jobs. double click on it to run, or Start Job Once).

To program 1 single cylinder's injector, use "job abgleich_programmieren_ima_zyl"
In the arguments box type in IMA1 (for cyl 1) a ';' and then the injector code. Eg. IMA1;B123456
Click Start Job Once. It should say OKAY.
Then repeat for any others changing the number after IMA if you have to change them.
Turn off ignition for some time, 5-10 seconds, then use step 3 to read injector codes.

To program all cylinders, use job "abgleich_programmieren_ima" and write in all 4 (or 6) codes in the arguments box in cylinder order 1;2;3;4;5;6 (front to back) and then push Start Job Once. It should say OKAY
Ignition off for 5-10 seconds and then verify with Step 3.

Clear all errors (job "fs_loeschen") and you're good to go.

This can also done with INPA if set up correctly.

Unfortunately, I don't have any of those tools, maybe I should get the "BMW standard tool pack" Might need you to educate me some, I would need to buy a cheap laptop too... No big deal, but just like the scanners I have. Too bad protools can do it...

Deep OBD app for Android has all the tool32 jobs ported in it. But I have never used it.

Bimmergeeks has a decent pack, or Mike's INPA pack, for these almost ready to go packs.

#1 is frontmost and #4 is rearmost, they simply go in order from there
