AC switches from M to A by itself

Anyone notice this happening? Why would it do this?

I believe this is normal....system automatically reacting to pollutants in the air.

That would be the case in A mode. M mode means it's closed all the time. I don't think it's sensitive enough to detect COVID so I want it closed all the time. I tried turning on the AC by just pressing this button and it seemed to stay in M but it wasn't for a long trip and seems odd you have to do it that way. And no way to tell if it's staying closed when AC is off.

"The recirculated-air mode automatically switches off at low outside temperatures after a given time, to avoid condensation."

Happens automatically.

Looks like if I turn it on by pressing the M button it stays in M.

Also noted if you press it a 3rd time it just turns the light off...what is that doing?

Rather have fresh air all the time. There is a charcoal filter...COVID shouldn't be a problem driving down the road or even in traffic if the filter is doing its job.

Recirculate cools the car down faster, so it's useful in very hot weather, but it also results in higher CO2 and moisture content and less O2 in the cabin air, so you should only use it when you really need it.

That's fresh air, M light is recirculate and A is auto.

Its about memory settings attended to driver profiles and this driver profiles can also attended to key fobs. If your car has two drivers and drivers use different keys its normal. But you can switch them whatever you want. It memorizes the last adjustment.
Recirculation thing is different title. Auto mode decides according to weather condition. M mode means always closed. Lights off means always open.

With Covid, I prefer it always be in M mode if I’m not in moving traffic. Wonder if it can be coded

Thanks for the tip. I thought I was going mad thinking I hadn't turned it to manual. Kept flipping back to A.
This explains it

Have the same problem here with my F30 LCI.
AC is on and Manual on, all working fine for a few minutes, then automatically switches on Auto.

This drives me nuts. I select again Manual, works fine for 3-5 minutes, then again switches automatically on Auto (22 Celsius degrees inside, 5 Celsius degrees outside).

I flashed the car with the latest psdzdata (IHKA included), but no success in resolving this auto switching problem from Manual to Auto.

I saw the problem on other forums also, but without any solution.

Does anyone know if this can be coded somehow?
