F32 2015 large screen swap? Car play

Hey folks,

Found a deal on the marketplace - someone selling a “ 9385202 03 “ infotainment screen. I’m not sure if I should buy it, maybe it has Apple car play? My current screen doesn’t have Apple car play, I was looking into getting one but I think I may need to buy the Apple car play box.

Was wondering if the following model will have Apple car play? Or would it require an Apple car play box as well?

That's just an OEM screen so you would need an MMI box in addition to the screen. If you're looking to replace your screen with a bigger screen and you're looking for aftermarket Carplay you should just get an Android screen.

I'm not sure about your head unit but you could get the OEM screen and get native Carplay enabled. Some of the more knowledgeable users may chime in with what options you have.

There is a device called a head unit in the dashboard that provides radio and navigation functions. Head units dating back to 2015 do not support Apple Car Play. There are aftermarket device such as MMI that you can add to support Apple Car Play. Alternatively, you can buy a more recent head unit (v 4.1 US spec to support Sirius) that can be coded to provide Apple Car Play.
