I've made a video tutorial how to retrofit LED Dome/Map Light into BMW F30.

In the US, this is standard, but in the EU, this is unfortunately optional.

hi,

i have an f30 with base lights without the sports light. I am going to make an attempt to do the retrofit but after looking at the wiring diagrams I have a few questions and help would be greatly appreciated.

things I didn't get:

the non led has pin 1 going to x56*1V, the grey/red cable but on the led the grey/red cable goes from the back dome light to x56*2v. where do I need to wire this to? is this the k/lin cable that I can tap from the windshield sensor?

secondly the power cable pin 3 goes to the fuse box but can I also wire this to the power cable from the windshield sensor?

from my understanding for the fem I need to rein 42 from a173*2b to 9 from a173*3b. 9 then connects to the rear dome light is this correct?

do I then need to run another cable from the fem pin 41 a173*4b to pin 2 from the front dome light?

I did it! Fully base model light to led all working and coded via Bimmercode. Follow the diagram from your base light and the led light andn not this video because it's a confusing mess! Following the diagram makes it less stressful!

Hi guys, if I want to tap into 12v from the dome lights (base model, no sports light), I just need to tap pin 42 on A173*2B?

or am I reading the diagram wrong?

You won't get a single reply from this guy. He answers NOBODY, helping is not written in his book. I asked multiple times on each platform he posts in where lots of people ask for help too but no f*cks given by this figure.

Follow the diagram and compare your existing diagram with the new one. So you can recognise the cables you already have which appear in the new diagram.

This may possibly help you. It's what I used in my 2014 F30, so I have no idea if it also works for your F36.

Interior Lights, all FEM_BODY 3070
default values shown, set whatever times you want (in hex seconds)

Time interior lights remain on after locking
IB_EINSCHALT_BEGR_LOK wert_01 Werte=08

Time interior lights remain on after unlocking
IB_EINSCHALT_BEGR_ULOK wert_01 Werte=14

Time interior lights remain on after driving off
IB_FAHRT_MIT_LICHT wert_01 Werte=04
