What's the max power you can get on pump 93 without WMI or corn? And what would the build include to get there? Turbo? Hpfp (if no wmi or corn, is the TU enough, or Dorch1 or 2?) New clutch for my 6speed? DP (would go catted, probably AA), tune (assuming custom)? What am I missing?

Thinking for a stock turbo a TU pump is enough. Without WMI and E85 additives, a 98Ron fuel will have a maximum of 480hp on the flywheel. On fuel 100 / 102Ron will be 520hp. In general, the boost limit for the stock turbo is 20psi, for a short time 21.5psi. The 22psi boost destroys the Bosh turbine.

420whp on stock turbo with stock hpfp. Low 500whp with a Pure800 and the supra hpfp. Probably high 400whp with the GC turbo and supra hpfp.

There was this thread not long ago on a M140i that did 600 whp on pump gas, upgraded turbo and HPFP.
The thread just died and no one confirmed if it was legit. https://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1673336

Thanks guys. I probably phrased my initial question poorly. I'm not so much interested in the max power number, as there are too many variables like dyno type and tune that can affect the real power estimate, I guess what I'm really after is the build that would result in max power for pump 93. Turbo upgrade? Which turbo? (I know this one is subjective) Which fuel pump? Would I need dorch 2 for max power if not using WMI or corn or would dorch 1 or tu be enough? For tunes, are there generic or OTS tunes for this type of setup or is custom tune my only option?

I have an N55 but some of this may help with your B58 questions. Pure said the baseline on the N55 with stock turbo, stock fuel pump on 93 octane is about 400whp. They said that the N55 with a Pure Turbos Stage2 turbo upgrade, the B58TU (Supra) fuel pump on 93 octane would max out at roughly 480whp. I asked if the TU pump was maxed out at that point and was told no because the Supra with an upgraded turbo could get to 580whp on its TU pump. So either the TU pump or the Dorch1 should more than do the job based on the attached table from Dorch. I suggest that you call Pure Turbos to ask similar questions about the various fuel pumps and power outputs on the B58 engine on 93 octane. |
