Yes, pretty much the same way you would install VRSF's axel back, or any.

Sounds good!
Def one of the best exhaust notes in the aftermarket sector. Great use of mics too in some of the shots.

are those angle cut tips? will there be a straight cut tip option?

the exhaust sounds good - very similar to the vibrant resonator setup i'm using when valves are open. would be nice to have the option to quiet it down.

How does this sound compared to the AWE w/ catless downpipe and OEM midpipe?

Also, can you upload some more pics? From the rear and from the top, please - I'd like to see how they look proportionate to the body and how much they protrude out.

And can the valve be opened and closed via sport and comfort modes? Or do you have to use Bimmerlink?

EDIT: Are the tips welded on? And when will the black tips be released?

EDIT 2: Another one. Does it drone at all? Sorry for bombarding you w/ questions, but I'm highly interested.

The guy doesnt work for valvetronics... and since he didnt have the AWE exhaust prior, how would you know he knows what it sounds like compared to this one?

The tips are clamped

black will be available later...

Hes said there was no drone, both with and without a cat and with the stock mid pipe.

I never implied he worked at Valvetronics.

And I apologize if my wording confused you. Prepend "Do you know..." to each of my question. Here, let me spell it out for you since it probably still won't be clear to you:

"Do you know how this sounds compared to the AWE exhaust system w/ catless downpipe and OEM midpipe?"

"Do you know when the black tips will be released?"

It's completely fine if the answer to either question is "No" or "I don't know". Rarely do we ask questions in an open forum expecting one specific person to know all the answers; anyone who knows the answer can chime in - thought that was a given.

Great, the tips are clamped. What are its dimensions (outlet is 3.98" according to their site)?

EDIT: For the confused, the last question should be read as, "Do you know its dimensions?"

Well.. do you know how the AWE compares to the Armytrix exhaust using a catted downpipe but with a modded mid pipe?

Black tips are in production and will be available.. later

The tips that come with it are clamped, chrome, slash cut.. 2.5" inlet (like OEM)

And if it wasnt clear since and if my sarcasm confused you.. it was sarcasm lol. The whole how does it sound discussion is moot because you cant compare sound clips and i know the guy had the m performance exhaust on the car when he got it and wouldnt know personally.

Ill have this exhaust ina week or two. Ill be in the first official batch delivered. Ill post up my results as well. I wanted black tips too so i just ordered some flat black carbon 3.5" ones since i didnt want the 4" sizing.

Awesome, look forward to your review. And I actually prefer the 4" look, one of the reasons why I want an AWE exhaust system w/ the 102mm black exhaust tips.

Out of curiosity, why did you go for the Valvetronics as opposed to other exhausts in the market? Is it due to the relatively lower price or is there something about a "straight pipe" that's superior?

Pricing as well as the quieter vs lpud option basically on the fly so to speak. Im expecting very little power overall. If i had a pure stage 2 or somethong it would really be worth it

Everyone has a different opinion on tips and sound etc.. im going to a specific look. When im out playing on the street, ill likely have stock tips on.

For sure. I wasn't considering an aftermarket exhaust initially, but after switching to a catless DP and hearing the burbles during downshifts.. just couldn't help myself

Been watching a few videos, and AWE sounds pretty nice for its price. However, it's still pretty steep @ ~$1,500. I'm definitely willing to splurge on a nice exhaust setup, but if the Valvetronics can achieve that for half the price, why not?

Valvetronics should be louder as well. Its basically straight pipe from turbo if you do the mid pipe resonator delete

I still have my resonator but I'm likely going to delete it soon, then I'll record some more sound clips. I'm really curious to see how Catless DP + Valvetronics system with no res sounds, I want a louder idle and be able to hear the turbo more

Like I stated before, it was pretty much unbearable when I did this... People asked if I had a problem with my car

Adding a vibrant res cleaned it right up. But to each their own, if you like it then enjoy!

I'll likely purchase the Race version, I'm Catless DP (staying that way) and no resonator. If I like it as is with the race version I'll leave it otherwise I'll reinstall my res to try it that way. No babies or neighbors to worry about lol!

Just checked the site and the price is a lot more than the suggested 599.

Looked through the thread and the valvetronic website and didnt find a clear answer.

Will the valves open and close when using the drive mode selector (Comfort to Sport to Sport+) or do i have to use bimmerlink?

EDIT: one more question, would i need to get the exhaust clamp separately?

In auto it will be closed in comfort and open in sport; or you can manually control it.
