Will the valves open and close when using the drive mode selector (Comfort to Sport to Sport+) or do i have to use bimmerlink?

EDIT: one more question, would i need to get the exhaust clamp separately?
Im busy at work so if you dont get answers before i can ill reply.. and i never really did a review so i will as well.

However i don't think it's this cut and dry. The valve will open even in comfort depending on throttle, engine load, etc. Basically, it will open and close depending on driving conditions, not just selection of comfort vs. sport/+. Unless maybe there is a specific way to code it like that? But the default behavior i have experienced with stock exhaust valve is as i described.

Correct.

I have mine set through the bm3 flash to be open in sport, but its stock in everything else, so for the most part its closed when its not in sport because of how i drive.

Follow up, I found their youtube channel and watched their install video. The exhaust reuses the existing valve controller and wiring harness (with extension). So valve behavior should be same as stock.

So what are people running for mid pipes with this system? I have x drive. I want a resonator since it will be no muffler with valve open.

Stock

There isnt any power to be gained by swapping it, just drone or maybe a little louder. My car is loud outside but so so inside because of how well they are sound insulated.

so you are straight pipe off turbo with valve open?

Also i hate the stock mid pipe, i want a stainless one. I know it adds no performance but my stock midpipe is in 3 pieces now and dont feel like getting it rewelded.

Yup, sounds like a turbo diesel on decel, it's pretty sick. Yeah I thought about doing a custom 4" midpipe but the gains are not at all worth it. I think the sound could definitely be interesting but I'd just reweld your midpipe or buy someone's stock that hasn't been cut

Same. But I haven't noticed any. I've been actually driving around in comfort but paddle mode because the burbles have just gotten too loud lol

It's quite subjective to say what's too much drone. However, the resonator's only job is to remove drone from the exhaust note. The muffler is there to reduce the bulk of volume. Fine-tune with a resonator. In that process the resonator can also reduce some volume, but that's not it's primary goal. When you remove it you are absolutely reintroducing drone into the cabin again. It may not be enough to bother you in particular, but it could be noticeable to some one else. It's there.

Even the stock system has a noticeable zone around 1300-1800 rpm. If you catch yourself cruising in that RPM range, there are few people who would not call that drone.

There was a certain sound I was looking for in my exhaust though and it's that very low rpm and idle turbo noise. Even when I was just catless and MPE few days before I did the valvetronic system it sounded decent when I got on it. But I like to hear it all times.

is the valvetronic system louder than mpe with valve open? I would imagine it is? I have armytrix which is similar design to mpe and all other systems really.

Anyone else can weigh in on if they are happy with their purchase? I'm debating to order or not. I already have a Fabspeed catted down pipe. I don't think an MPE is loud enough for me, so I am hoping this will fit the bill.

Id imagine youll get a better quality system than I did since its there second big run of them. Though, youre paying more than I did but you have top options that i didnt have.

I do like how it sounds (Im catless obviously). I still have never heard my car from the outside though, other than at idle.

You gotta let someone do it lol.. or equivalent is roll down all your windows and floor it in a tunnel; same thing pretty much I love how loud this car is when under loud, especially upshifts. Hopefully putting on a Gopro soon and getting some decent audio
