Exhaust noob

I'm in the market for a new exhaust, for my f30 335i
I'm debating between an M performance exhaust or Gintani exhaust
Would love to hear opinions, I currently have an AR design catted down pipe and looking for something deep throaty and volume isn't a factor

gotta do A LOT of research man, first decide what type of exhaust whether it's a catback or axle back you're looking for. some of the popular ones are the m performance, afe, awe, borla atak, remus (keeps the muffler valve), and active autowerks although I'm sure I missed a couple.. start watching youtube videos and try to find the ones that have the exhaust paired with a downpipe. I have personally heard the AFE and it sounded fkn awesome..

Here's a video of my full exhaust; catless, resonator delete, and Valvetronic Designs Catback exhaust. Valves closed for the first minute or so, then it opens up

Thank you!! If you can deal with putting on stock downpipe on every year for smog test I think it's very much worth it over an expensive catted pipe that usually ends up giving a CEL anyway. But I understand also that people just want a solution they don't have to change all the time.

Get a fabspeed catted DP. Or the new AA one.

If you want to go catless the year of your car matters. I believe its 8 years before you have to get a smog check on a new car (in CA).

My f30 is a 2014 :
if your car is a 2014, that means your first smog check in California will be when you renew reg in 2022, until then you just pay a "smog abatement fee".

I like Gintani better than M performance exhaust.

Check out the REMUS system, in my opinion, it's the best sounding one. It's aggressive without any drone or rasp

I've got a 2015 335i with the Fabspeed HJS catted downpipe, stock midpipe and M Performance exhaust. It sounds so good that I ended up using BootMod3 to turn off the burbles and pops completely. I love the pure exhaust sound when I hit the gas pedal!

Mine came with the MPE but a buddy of mine has the Fabspeed/stock midpipe/axle-back AWE. That's the best sounding combination that I've heard. That's what I would do in your position.

do they make an exhaust for the F30 335i? I see most of their exhaust products are for the M3/4, at least on their website I didn't see anything.
