For what it's worth, I have the same Sylvania reverse bulbs and I like them as well. I also have the Sylvania turn signal bulbs as well as brake lights, and they all perform very well. As stated, you'll need to do some coding for any LED bulb to work properly, but sounds like you have that covered.

Hey people
I installed these LED lights [IMG][/IMG], but i have one problem with 1 of them. The right housing seems to light up for a moment but fails after a couple of drives to work. If i change the right led bulb into the left one it works fine, only the housing of the right one has this problem. I coded following settings and don't receive the error check anymore. Is there a problem with the voltage or what am i doing wrong? Thanks for your input |

Quick update: So i replaced my hallogen reverse lights with these Sylvania 1156 bulbs. For some reason the right one lit up sometimes, but mostly it didn't work. Maybe light housing problem i thought.. I bought last week these bulbs:
NATGIC 1156 BA15S 1141 7506 LED Bulbs Xenon White 3000LM 3014 SMD 144-EX Chipsets with Lens Projector for Exterior Back Up Reverse Tail Lights, 12-24V https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B078YSL3..._XYQbA8dn9pgX5 So far no problems, all 2 reversing lights work as it should be. Also they are more brighter than the Sylvanias and that was my goal, to have bigger lummens and a wider light range.. I'm pleased with the brand for now |

From what I understand, the front turn signals will need the 1157 since they are dual function (dim for parking lights, bright for turn signals).

They're not the same. Mine uses 1156 for the backup and rear turn signal, H21W for brakes. I got these to replace the H21W:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1 But that doesn't mean these are what your car uses, so it's best to do a physical check of what you have. |

H21W stands for Halogen 21 watt. Bay9S is ostensibly the LED version of the H21W. I did come across what was labeled as an 1156 BAY9S H21W Halogen, which makes no sense at all, as the 1156 doesn't share the same base as the H21W.
I question why BMW doesn't use 1156 across the board. Every car I've had going back 50 years used 1156 for everything. I can see the smaller bulbs in the DRL and parking locations, they need to be smaller to share the same reflector as the headlight bulbs, but it makes no sense in the tail lights. |
