Fitting

Hi Guys

What did you use to fit the spoiler

I have the same one but failing to stick down for more than a month

I used this https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

But water gets under it and becomes lose on the ends. 50% of it was hanging off today and have to pull it off

Thanks

Very strange.

I used 3m tape and It hasnt loosened in 15 months.

Did you clean the boot with isopropano and heat up the tape with a hair dryer/ hot air gun before you stuck it down?

Looks awesome that for the money. Mines eso blue and worried they may not match the paint colour well ( not such an issue on darker colours). What about in terms of positioning? Is it easy to work out where to stick down?

This post has popped up all the way back from me posting it in 2016.

Mine has now started bubbling. In fact I was thinking about taking it off!

Lol I'm new to posting and did the same thing on other threads and got called out for it. They really shouldn't have ancient threads at the top! But it's for the best as now you can give your verdict on a 4 year trial please update on how easy it is to take off and if there is any damage left when you do.
I suppose if I buy a carbon fibre or gloss black non painted one it wont peel ....

I ended up going with the OEM CF rear spoiler as none of the after market Jobby's Sit flush to the boot lid, there is always a big lip / step on the leading edge, and as commented I thought that this design would lead to water ingress as the air pressure forces act on it, also many of the eBay parts had a max speed rating of 90 kph or something!? So that was a non starter for a 440i, it was £350 fitted, the car hasn't been collected yet but when it is I'll post a couple of pics.

90kph wudda been a non starter on a nissan micra let alone a 440!) Looking forward to the pics, but at this point I wouldn't dare suggest it to the missus until I get a few brownie points in the bag! Just bought 19s and put new rubber on them, when I said I need to pay for a refurb it got a lil hairy !

Just refitted mine yesterday and cost me more money

Wet and dry p3000 on spoiler only. Heated up and applied 3M tape

Cleaning boot with paint cleaner and 99% IPA cleaner. Then warmed up boot with heat gun slowly, so just warm

Fitted spoiler and its sticking like s***** to a blanket now

Lets see if the next 2 months of rain causing a problem, if it does I have no clue as to what to do next but the spoiler is going binned
