adaptive headlights

Hi all

I have a adaptive headlights on my f31. My fog light also comes on depending on which way I turn. The question I have is there 2 bulbs in the fog light, 1 for turning and 1 for being a fog light? If its only 1, is it a h11 bulb?

Hope that makes sense. Lol

Cheers
Simon

It's only one bulb. That one bulb is used for fog lights and corner lighting. On my F34 they were H8 I'd be surprised if they were different but I'd double check your manual. This is all assuming you have Xenon adaptive headlights.

Depends on if it’s an lci or not as lci fogs are a whole led unit.

hi all
I am trying to replace D1S OEM Philipps xenon bulbs with OSRAM XENARC NIGHT BREAKER LASER...my car has adaptive Xenons - in non adaptive there is a metallic bracket holding the bulb (lots of DIY youtube videos) however in my car I can see the bulb without any bracket there - just the bulb in the adaptive assembly - I tried to twist it out (only slight force) but couldn't to take it out .... I didn't try anything else as dont want to disturb the adaptive set-up - does anyone have experience in replacing D1S on adaptive set-up? - if so any tips would help.
Many thanks

I wouldn’t go anywhere near them, especially with adaptive lights.

I replaced them in my F36 with adaptive xenons which doesn't have a retaining clip.

Once you've unplugged the connector from the bottom of the bulb just turn to the left.

Top stuff. Cheers for the video. Nice to see it can be done without taking half the car apart.
Just keep the new lamp clean, no touching at all on the glass and all should be well.

Wife has a F25 with adaptive xenon's. As someone mentioned it was easy changing the D1S bulb, unplug and simply rotate it.

Not sure why someone is leave it alone? Changing the bulb was no more difficult than a halogen on a 20 year old car!

Swapped the original D1S bulbs for Philips Xenon X-treme Vision gen2 on my 440i with adaptive xenons. Easy job takes 5 mins per bulb.

so thankful for the video - changed mine yesterday and went out for a test drive - adaptive setup & HBA all working fine - just need to convince myself that OSRAM XENARC NIGHT BREAKER LASER are definitely brighter than the OEM Philips D1S...time will tell.
