Mr Sheen

Might sound random but I thought I'd post.

Read a thread on the X3 forum about piano black trim and how hard it is to keep clean. I put piano black in mine as I think it looks great (and at the time you couldn't order a G01 with carbon for whatever reason!) but as everyone will know it is an absolute ball ache to keep clean(I know that F30/F31's only have a little strip as standard).

Go buy a £1 can of Mr Sheen and grab a microfibre cloth for your piano black trim. I don't know what the hell is in it but over the years I've tried absolutely everything to keep the piano black looking good, about 3 weeks ago on a whim I took some Mr Sheen from under the kitchen sink and gave it a try.....it is hands down the best thing I've ever came across to do the job. It leaves a nice deep glossy finish, it leaves no residue, it is excellent at deflecting dust and it's £1 a can!!

used to work in a motorbike shop and that is all we used to polish the bikes. It is also decent for cleaning sticker residue, oil, grease, etc.

The wood/beeswax works good in a car

My wife keeps a microfibre cloth in the glove box of her T-Toc R which has gloss trim and touch screen that shows every mark on it. Quick rub with that sorts it every time without the need for anything else...

Microfibre cloths can scratch if too much pressure is applied with them.

Lots of car wrap places suggest using mr sheen rather than the super expensive cleaning products for wraps. Makes sense really.

12 months old now, not a mark from using it.
How much pressure are you applying?

Mr Sheen for a lot of interior plastics.
Pears soap bar for leather interior.
Peanut butter for unpainted external plastics.

There are some great cheap products that are as good or better than the often very expensive automotive detailing products.

I use Aerospace 303 on mine. Expensive if you have a lot of trim like our Cooper S does but find it works well.
