Tire sizing

I'm currently debating if 265/40 18 would fit my rear, it's ether that or 245/40 18 & I really don't want to go down a size. I'm currently lowered on H&R super sport springs. If anyone can help me that'd be great!

It is not recommended but some people have gotten away with it on their 8.5 width rear wheels. 255 really is the max you should run.

Why are your only options 245 or 265?

Going for some track\street tire & unfortunately they don't have 255/40

What tire? They have Bridgestone RE-71R in stock sizing as well as some other 200tw options on Tire Rack.

If you're stuck on the brand you're looking at, I'd recommend either going down to a 245 or buying wider wheels.

I run 265/35/19 on the rear on a 19x9.5 +40 with H&R sports (not super sports) and no rubbing. Probably doesnt help much info wise with the different springs

I just did the 245/40's all around, and think they look just perfect.

I ended up going 255/35 pretty sure I can fit 265/35 for my next tire purchase! Thanks everyone for the help! (I didn't know they had 255 until I contacted them since it doesn't show in their website)
