Good degreaser for removing polish etc before sticking spoiler?

What's a decent product for the above, got some Halfords paint preparation wipes but I'm not confident they're quite good enough. Apparently I need a good degreaser to really remove polish etc from the boot lid (then use the wipes after).
Any recommendations?
Cheers

Hi

I used this from eBay before adding my spoiler

https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?m...2F254172195285

Wiped over the area with blue roll.

After sticking the spoiler on (3m tape) I used 2x 1kg bags of rice to help weigh the spoiler down.

One at each end and left over night. Might be overkill but I've not had the ends/tips raise since

I used a solvent based cleaner prior to sticking my spoiler to the bootlid of my F32, once the double sided tape had bonded it has been solid.

Used the same solvent cleaner yesterday on the rear bumper of my Forester to prep it for a plastic protector and once again it adhered to the surface with no issues. Which was a pity as i stuck it on not quite in the correct position and had to remove it , which was a real PITA.

Autosmart Tardis is one of the best products for this, will strip all waxes and polishes easily. Only problem is it comes in a 5 ltr can but its very handy stuff to have if into detailing

As above, IPA cleaner will do the job just fine.

Just remembered I still have some IPA. I've read I need to dilute it 50/50 with water prior to spraying on?

Its fine neat. Id really recommend using 3M Primer 94 on the boot lid and spoiler before applying the tape, to make sure it stays stuck. And make sure everything is at least 20C before sticking.

Cheers. Yeah I was thinking of using the 3M promoter but should I ever want to remove it I think it would strip the paint off! Reading these forums it seems as long as the surfaces are properly prepared the 3M tape on its own should do the trick 🤞🏻

No it definitely will not strip the paint off! Trust me, the spoiler will most likely start peeling off after a while if you dont use it.

I meant if I ever wanted to remove it, I've seen videos where the adhesive is so strong using the promotor, it'll start to damage what's underneath it.
I guess in reality why would I want to remove it, it's not a genuine spoiler anyway

I've always used isopropyl alcohol (rubbing alcohol) to remove any grease or wax before painting. Rub it on with a clean cloth. Don't over think things. It works.

IPA diluted at 1:10 with water is all you need for this, you don't need to use it neat, but won't do any harm if you do.

I just used just 3m tape to stick my on and it's solid as a rock. No promoter required if you cleaned your paintwork properly like it sounds like you're going to.
