Advan RS fitment on F30 ... ET35 Rear

Hey Guys,

So I upgraded from an E90 to an F30 late last year (340i, 6spd, w/ MPPSK) after many years. But I kept the set of Advan RS's that I ran on my E90 and loved!

F: 18" x 8.5 ET32
R: 18" x 9.5 ET35

I know that at the least I'd need to upsize to larger tires, as they currently have E90 sized 225/40 & 255/35 Advan Neova AD08's. I think the appropriate F30 18" staggered size would be 225/45 & 255/40.

But my biggest question is if the 9.5 ET35 rear is too aggressive? Will it poke out the fender too much? According to online calc its +25mm in the rear compared to the Style 442 I've got now.

Not lowered at the moment, but thinking of Dinan springs as an option if I keep the Advans to complete the look.

So ... will it work? Do I invest in new tires? I've seen some ET35 posts are searching but I'm not convinced it'll work.

Old photo of the wheels on my E90 ... I do have the proper Advan centre caps now

245 /40/18 front, 255/40/18 rear. (sorry don't use this combo)

do 235/45/18-265/40/18 both 26.3" good for x-drive, better ride and protection, fills stock wheel gap
or 225/45/18-255/40/18 OEM size

Eibach springs are better than Dinan, imo.

OK .. so sounds like a "DO IT"

So I think based on JaredE thread with his 9" ET30 wheels in the rear compared to my 9.5" ET35, I think mine will only be +1mm more in the rear ... and his fitment looked great! So I think this will work ...

he's xdrive and thats 1.2% difference. I would say he should just do the usual 235/45/18 and 265/40/18 making them 26.3" in diameter or just go with stock f30 tires to minimize poke.

Sorry, I missed that you're xdrive. Do NOT use 245/40-255/40. Thx @wdeerfield.

X drive with that fitment he should run stock tire 225/45 255/40 more choices for tires. It's hard finding 235/40 265/40 for a reasonable price.

Yep, going stock tire sizes so as not to worry.

Ordered Dinan springs & bump stops.

Now deciding what tires ... I previously had Yoko AD08's on the E90 and absolutely loved them. Probably won't see much track time like the last set, so debating about going a step down in grip. I was happy with the Advans, so I was thinking the new Yoko Apex V601 but there's not much out there about it.

Or ... just go for a set of AD08R's.

Thanks guys.

if you love yoko, and doesnt track a lot, i recommd checking yokohama advan sport v105. it's a ultra high performance tyre for daily drive.
Most of my friends here use that tyre, and the feedback is great. Dry grip, wet grip, comfort, and road noise is great. One of them lasted for 40,000km with combined of spirited driving and stop and go in the city.

for me, currently using toyo proxes t1r, but the road noise is quite loud compared to yoko advan sport v105.

With the limited info on the new Apex V601, it's hard to tell where its positioned in the lineup relative to the V105. But from what I can tell it's:

A052 > AD08R > V601 > V105 > V701

Which leads me towards the V601. It's also a lot more of a tire modern than the V105.

go ahead mate
because V601 is not available in my place, so i can't give you any input on those

popular tyre in my country is:
1. Yoko Advan Sport V105
2. Toyo Proxes T1R
3. Toyo Proxes T1 sport
4. Hankook S1 Noble
5. Yoko Advan Neova AD08R
